Okay, so maybe the title was a little misleading. These ten things probably will end up taking over your life until you finally watch the last tear-jerking episode. But what else do we have to do in the summer? So I've compiled a list of 8 shows that will make you laugh, cry and maybe even scream.

1. "Jane the Virgin"

This show has my heart. Jane Villanueva is the perfect character to cheer on. Her life is full of ups and downs that make you laugh and cry. The show is the perfect Americanized telenovela. It's contains all the ingredients for a binge watching marathon. #teamMichael

2. "How I Met Your Mother"

It may have taken nine seasons for Ted to tell his children the story of meeting his wife, but no one complained at the length of the show. The characters developed from awkward young 20's to mature lovable adults. We got to watch multiple romances unfold and Barney's playbook never failed to amaze us. If you are looking for a light-hearted show to watch nothing can beat this hilarious comedy.

3. "Grey's Anatomy"

Everyone has heard of this show. If you haven't yet taken to plunge and watched this excellent series, just do it. The show is intense and dramatic but the characters never fail to touch us. You will cry with each character as tragedy hits their life and rejoice when they finally succeed. Watching Grey's is a commitment but it is one you will thoroughly enjoy.

4. "Young and Hungry"

This show is about love and food. It doesn't get much better than that. Its a comedy we can all relate to as Gabi fumbles through her love life and real life. The show takes a familiar face and transforms Emily Osment into a grown-up role. It also has tons of excellent guest stars such as Ashley Tisdale and Jesse McCartney. It's hilarious and Lil' SoSo is perfect.

5. "The 100"

Some people may disagree with me, but this show is my current favorite. I have watched it from the first episode to the most current episode and I have not been disappointed. The show is interesting and different than the typical science fiction TV show. I personally have enjoyed watching the struggle and growth of all the characters, whether they are Grounders or Sky Crew. Since there are only 3 seasons it would be easy to binge watch and get caught up before the next season airs.

6. "Castle"

I found this gem watching TV with my great aunt one day. She turned the TV on and insisted that we watch the show. It turns out that a crime show with a crime novelist as the main character is hilarious. It's not all just comedy though. The series has its serious and scary notes. This show is one you can watch with your parents over summer break and they will enjoy it just as much as you do.

7. "Gossip Girl"

With all the drama, romance and glamour that you could ever desire Gossip Girl is a perfect show to binge. While the characters may start out as petty and immature, by the end they have grown up and become wonderful people. Chuck and Blair's romance keeps every viewer wondering if they will ever be happily together. It is everything an aspiring socialite could want in a TV show.

8. Old-school Disney

If you are feeling nostalgic this summer, any old Disney show is great to binge. You will remember why you grew up watching Disney every night and maybe even cry a little when you realize that Disney will never be the same again. These shows are our childhood and a great option for any binge marathon.

So enjoy your summer, spend time with family and friends, work a lot but most importantly binge on.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
