Even if you've only seen one episode of Grey's Anatomy, you've been inspired. From Meredith Gray's passionate advice to Cristina Yang's witty comments, they've been great. Grey's Anatomy has definitely pushed me through some rough patches. For example, my first week of college was pretty rough. I missed home, and I really missed my pets. (Yes, I'm a crazy dog and cat lady.) My mom and I were talking and she said, "You just need to watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy." Obviously, she was right. I just needed some Derek Shepard in my life. With that said, here are 8 Grey's Anatomy quotes to get you through college. Or in my case, life.

1. "At some point, you just have to let go, move on. Because no matter how painful it is, it's the only way we grow." - Meredith Gray

There will be people in your life that you won't be able to keep around during college. It's a sad reality, but it's the truth. There's some people that just don't take life as seriously as you do.

2. "I'm a human being. I make mistakes, I'm flawed. We all are." - Derek Shepard

Let's be real, Derek Shepard is not flawed.

On a serious note, this is college. You will make mistakes. You will probably fail an exam, maybe two. But like Derek says, it's okay. We're all flawed.

3. "Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature." - Cristina Yang

Maybe you'll disagree with me on this, but be a kiss up. Not too much, because then it gets weird. But seriously, have the same fire as Cristina does. Don't be afraid to show off your skills, and don't be hesitant to show out your classmates, because you deserve this. You deserve for your professor to know how hard you've worked and how much you know.

4. "You can't just give up. That's lame." - Alex Karev

My first week of college was filled with thoughts like, "Am I cut out for this?" "Can I really do this?" The answer--HELL YES. I couldn't imagine actually leaving Indiana University Southeast. I see this as a commitment I made, and yes Alex, it would be super lame of me to leave my home.

5. "Friends are the family we choose." - Meredith Gray

Find your people. To get through college, you need friends. You need to find the Cristina to your Meredith.

6. "You should be here. We should be drunk." - Cristina Yang

"UHM, I NEED MY BEST FRIEND. LIKE NOW." - My daily thoughts in college.

7. "All you can do is be brave enough to get out there." - Mark Sloan

Seriously. Don't be afraid to get out there. Whether it's making new friends, or going to your professor's office for help. This is what college is about. Go to that party and make some new friends! You never know, you may find your person there. Go talk individually with your professor, it may be the deciding factor of passing or failing your next exam. NETWORK people, it's the key to success.

8. "It's like we're on a train that's going 200 miles per hour." - George O'Malley

I hear ya, George. This is the definition of college: A train that's going 200 miles per hour. Enough said.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
