8 Gift Ideas For Your Special Lady This Holiday Season

Attention men seeking gift ideas for their lovely lady this holiday season:

I know, you’re struggling. You want this present to be as perfect as her, but what do you get her? Another necklace? Shoes? Concert tickets? I’m going to help you out. From a woman to a man, here’s eight gift ideas that will kill her with cuteness and have you barkin' yourself up the RIGHT tree… Am I right ladies?

1. A Labrador

Just look at that face. So what if they shed? I'll take these hairs on my blanket over shaved face hairs all over the sink. Because which one of you are capable of cleaning up after yourself? Think about that one. While she's vacuuming dog hairs off the floor, now is your chance to remember to run and clean out that sink.

2. A French Bulldog

On the nights that you’re not home to snuggle, a frenchie is. And us women need that kind of extra love in our lives. Get her a french bulldog or find yourself in the doghouse. Which one is it?

3. A Pug

I mean, come on. They’re silly, they’re energetic, and they definitely have the eyes for her.

4. A Beagle

For ears big enough to listen when you don’t. What? Don’t be insulted, it’s a guy thing.

5. A Golden Retriever

This will show her that you’re a family man. They have hearts of gold—hence the name—and you’ll seem to have one too.

6. A Boxer

To make up for any sense of humor that you lack; they are one to put a smile on any face!

7. A Pitbull

LOVERS not fighters. Keep the peace in the household with one of these cuties to melt her heart.

8. A Massage

I’m throwing this one in there because truthfully we could all use one. Shout out to all the women dealing with their own sickness VS. the “man flu.” Honestly, if you aren’t going to get her a dog OR it’s just not the right time for one, at least give her some sort of therapeutic relaxation time. She deserves it. A stuffed animal dog never hurts either...

And there you have it, eight of the best gifts you could get a woman this holiday season. If you’re not catching my drift here, can you really catch her heart? They say a dog is a man's best friend and one of these might really be your bestie once you discover how much love you’ll get for buying her one. I’m talking you’ll be showered in two kinds of kisses: hers and the dog’s. And trust me, you’ll love both.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
