Because Nobody likes to Feel This Way

8 Feelings We Hate to Feel
Sunflower Storytime

Sometimes saying or feeling what you are experiencing at the moment can be a pain. I know personally, I hate feeling so here's a list of some that make me uncomfortable:

1. Guilt - Nobody can possibly enjoy the pit in your stomach feeling as though you are responsible for something. Talking about it can make you feeling better but some people it can seems like you are dwelling on that experience or emotion.

2. Loneliness - As much as people like to be alone, sometimes we crave people, even in the most basic ways. Feeling another presence or even hearing someone else's voice remind us all that we aren't alone in this big world.

3. Failure - Who wants to hear a story where you didn't get what you want or lost the thing? Well, it is not a bad idea to hear more of these. Hearing about someone else's failure tends to make us feel like it is okay to fail. It is a good reminder that we are going to fail at things in life and that is okay and it important to the life learning process. We aren't immortal and are supposed to fail.

4. Anger - How awkward is it to be angry? We are in this state of irrationality where it is harder to fix the situation at hand? Most commonly refered to as a useless emotion, once anger is let out, life tends to feel a little more bearable.

5. Overwhelmed - How much it sucks to be here in this stressed and struggling state. Feeling as though the world is all on you is terribly unbearable and make all the things you are doing feel a million times harder. Learning how to cope with stress and this feeling is a long process for most.

6. Rejected - After not getting that reply back or someone not feeling the same way, can feel horrible, of course. This state tends to leave a person bitter and a little sad because that thing you wanted to happy is not now. The rejection could have been done in the nicest way but still can leave any person a little raw feeling. A good way to deal with this feeling is to just ride it out for a bit and just give yourself a little break from life.

7. Weak - Personally, this is one of least favorite emotions ever. I hate the idea of someone catching me at a weak time and spilling my emotions all over them. But I know it is a part of life and needs to happen because even strong people feel weak. As I said before we are all human and it is best to just feel these feelings instead of by-passing them.

8. Sadness - Feeling sad is obviously quite sad. The lamenting that needs to be done is important because all feelings are important to life. Nobody likes being sad but it is a natural emotion to get when you don't get a good grade in class or hearing bad news to just feeling kind of bummed out. Give yourelf a break and if you need to cry just do it because would ever tell a friend not to cry? Well sometimes you need to treat yourself like your friend.

Letting all of these hard and complex feeling pass by is important to living a good life because these all are very natural and common to experience.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
