Elliot Stabler's last appearance in "Law and Order SVU" was the finale of season 12. Luckily, we got Nick Amaro as our new eye candy detective in season 13! These are a few emotional moments in seasons 13-16!

1. Cragen tells Benson that Stabler put his papers in

After shooting and killing a teenage girl, Stabler was too traumatized to put his gun back on. After being partners for 12 years, Benson took this news extremely hard!

2. Benson's abduction

After William Lewis is set free from raping and torturing an elderly woman, the entire squad was distraught. When he abducted Olivia for four days, the rest of the team stopped at nothing until she was found and he was brought to justice.

3. Cassidy gets shot while undercover

Ganzel, a sex trafficker, discovers Cassidy is undercover after a three year investigation. He sets up a hit on Cassidy that happens right in front of Benson! He miraculously recovers and Ganzel is taken down.

4. Amaro learns about his son

After a decade, a woman from Amaro's past is called upon as a witness. Amaro had a relationship with her while he was undercover. After the case was over, he had to disappear. Since he could not contact her, she never got to tell him about his son! He was able to begin a relationship with him.

.5. Cragen's talk with Rollins about addiction

Everyone knows Cragen used to be a drinking man. Rollins had a different addiction, gambling. A bookie gets arrested and thinks that snitching on Rollins for gambling will help him out, or at least get her fired. Lucky for Rollins, Cragen gets her help instead of "canning her a**"

6. Cragen wakes up with a dead hooker

Cragen meets with a witness that claims Amaro was inappropriate with her. The next thing he knows he is waking up with her dead body next to him in bed. The entire situation was a set up, but his career did end quickly after. His name was cleared, but not his reputation.

7. Olivia sneaks off to find her abductor!

William Lewis escaped from prison and abducted a little girl! Olivia was placed on protective detail and ordered to stay away from the investigation. She slipped away from her detail and finds Lewis! He forces her to play Russian Roulette with him. With the last bullet in the chamber Lewis commits suicide, but makes it look like Olivia shot him.

8. Olivia Benson FINALLY gets a baby

Ellie Porter was finally going to be a good mother after a long history of prostitution and drug abuse when her pimp, Johnny D, "green lights" her and she is burned to death. The judge asked Olivia to take in Ellie's son Noah in as a foster child. After fostering him, Benson could not have been more in love with that little boy! There were some complications when they discovered Johnny D was Noah's biological father, but in the end Olivia finally got the family she had been wanting for so many years!
