Finals Week.

Yeah, it sucks. No sugar coating this one. You get out of bed everyday only to take a series of test that determine your fate in a given course... Ugh. Thankfully, God has given us the beautiful creation that is coffee.

So, here is a quick cheat sheet on the best caffeine-boosters that Starbucks has to offer. Good luck...

8. Carmel Macchiato

Caffeine Amount: 75mg - 150mg

Level of Bitterness: 5/10

Perhaps, on of the most popular drinks ordered at Starbucks, this coffee drink has a balanced flavor between sweet and bitter. The Caramel Macchiato consists of steamed milk with vanilla syrup, espresso, and a caramel drizzle. This drink is also an ideal subject to be iced!

7. Caffe Misto

Caffeine Amount: 75mg - 195mg

Level of Bitterness: 8/10

This drink can be considered the love-child of the Flat White and drip-brewed coffee. This "fancy" spin on espresso latte, like the Flat White, can be customized to any flavor!

6. Salted Carmel Mocha

Caffeine Amount: 90mg - 185mg

Level of Bitterness: 2/10

Sometimes the bitterness of coffee can get exhausting. Thankfully, this drink gives you caffeine, while keeping it light on the taste. I was pleasantly surprised to see this one on the lists! Make sure to drink this one slowly for the full impact instead of a sugar crash.

5. Flat White

Caffeine Amount: 130mg - 195mg

Level of Bitterness: 7/10

One of my personal favorites, the Flat White, much like a latte, gets the job done in a small dose while also allowing you some creative freedom with flavors! This drink contains lightly-foamed steamed milk, espresso, and a light layer of froth on top. Try it with caramel syrup or the seasonal Holiday Spice style!

4. Latte Macchiato

Caffeine Amount: 150mg - 225mg

Level of Bitterness: 7.5/10

A fairly new drink on Starbuck's menu, the Latte Macchiato puts a fancier twist on a latte with espresso shots are poured over a layer of steamed milk. Yumm... Feel free to customize with a shot of vanilla or even mocha!

3. Caffè Americano

Caffeine Amount: 75mg - 300mg

Level of Bitterness: 10/10

Prepare to This drink is at least 1 shot of espresso with hot water. This obviously has a strong taste with it. So, if you're not a fan of bitter coffee, add a splash of half-&-half to soften the blow.

2. "The Caffeinator" by Solomon Gerges

Caffeine Amount: 375mg

Level of Bitterness: 9/10

This beautiful concoction was created by ACU's one and only, Solomon Gerges. This drinks consists of a venti soy milk with 5 shots of espresso. Better drink this one slowly..

1. Black Coffee

Caffeine Amount: 130mg - 475mg

Level of Bitterness: 10/10

Black coffee, while it is sometimes hard to take the bitterness, definitely gets the job done without the calories and crash of sugar. But if you want to lighten the load, you are allowed to had a splash of cream and sugar, or ask for a pump of your favorite syrup. Or try the cold brew!

Well, there you have it. The 8 best drinks to get you through Finals Week. Now, study hard, drink buckets of coffee, and remember this:

Your soft, warm bed awaits you at the end of the week.

Hang in there! And good luck!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
