I have never been one to obsess over a music album, but I had to bring this one to the table. Just like probably everyone, the first time I heard “Perfect” on the radio by Ed Sheeran, I became a fan. It tugged at my heartstrings and made me wonder, “Where can I find a dude like that?”
Till this day, I am still not over that song, but to my surprise, there are even better ones on his album "Divide." There are lyrics that range from making you want to be that boss ass, independent woman to wanting to curl up in a blanket and go through a whole box of tissues. If you’re like me, music makes me laugh, cry, smile, frown, and change emotions just by the lyrics sung.
Below, I have shared some of those lyrics from eight songs on Ed’s new album that should be platinum. So before you go to find your “Galway Girl” to tell her she’s “Perfect” in a “Castle on the Hill,” listen to these songs that haven’t made it to the radio…yet.
1. “And when the worlds against me is when I really come alive." from "Eraser."
2. “So don’t call me baby unless your mean it. And don’t tell me you need me if you don’t believe it. So let me know the truth, before I dive right into you." from "Dive."
3. “You look happier, you do. My friends told me one day I’d feel it too. I could try to smile to hide the truth, but I know I was happier with you.” from "Happier."
4. “I know you’re missin’ all this kind of love.” from "New Man."
5. “I feel safe when you’re holding me near, love the way that you conquer your fears. You know hearts don’t break around here." from "Hearts Don't Break Around Here."
6. “I’ll be taking my time, spending my life falling deeper in love with you.” from "How Would you Feel."
7. “When I fell down you’d be there holding me up, spread your wings as you go. And when God takes you back we’ll say Hallelujah you’re home” from "Supermarket Flowers."
8. “And all the ones that love me they just left me on the shelf. No farewell. So, before I save someone else, I’ve got to save myself.” from "Save Myself."
