8 Eats That Rhode Islanders Cannot Live Without

Rhode Island has been my home for the past 19 years and, throughout that time, I have grown to love my little state and all of the scrumptious food that it has to offer. There are some things that you just cannot pass up on a trip to little Rhody. Even though we are the smallest state, we have the biggest selection of goodies that you simply cannot find anywhere else.

1. Awful Awful

Hands down, "Awful Awfuls" are better than any other milkshake that you will ever have. The ice cream from Newport Creamery is incredibly amazing. This place is a Rhode Island classic that has been around for way longer than I have lived. It's a must-go-to spot for your late night sugar cravings.

2. Del's Lemonade

It would be a wasted trip to Rhode Island in the summer if you didn't stop and have a Del's lemonade. It's the most refreshing, yummiest beach drink that there is. Thank god that Del's has so many locations throughout the state, us Rhode Islanders can get lazy we and don't like to travel too far for anything, let alone our frozen lemonade.

3. Party Pizza Strips

Born and raised in the ocean state, I assumed that pizza strips were a worldwide phenomenon. I was so wrong. If you love pizza minus the cheese, you will become obsessed with these. You can find these at most supermarkets all packaged and ready to go. You will not be disappointed.

4. Coffee Milk

While this is not a personal favorite of mine, 99 percent of Rhode Islanders swear by coffee milk. It really is simple. It's milk mixed with any kind of coffee syrup that you can get your hands on. Most people prefer Autocrat. This is also the official drink of Rhode Island. People here take their coffee milk very seriously.

5. Allie's Donuts

Allie's Donuts are never a bad idea. These are literally the most scrumptious donuts that you will ever find and they come in cake form. It's genius.

6. Brickley's Ice Cream

When walking into Brickley's Ice Cream, you will immediately be hit in the face with the smell of homemade waffle cones and fresh cream. Brickley's has been ranked in the top ten ice cream parlors nationally. The ice cream is simply amazing and it's even better if you add a waffle cone in there.

7. Olneyville NY System Hot Wieners

NY System Hot Wieners are smothered in their special meat sauce and topped with chopped onions. It is far too easy to eat way too many of these. Check out their two locations and homemade recipes here.

8. Wright's Farm Chicken Dinner

I am currently fantasizing about this meal as I write. You pay a set price of $12.75 and you get an all-you-can-eat, family style chicken dinner complete with rolls, salad, french fries, shells with sauce, and baked chicken. It may sound simple, but you will walk out of there feeling super full and super satisfied. You will also be thinking about how long it is before you get to go back. You can also never go wrong with choosing Wright's Farm for dinner, lunch, or both.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
