It is easy to say you don't have time to think about the environment or even care enough to do so. Here are some quick easy lifestyle changes you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and become greener and healthier!

1. Eat lower on the food chain

You don't have to go completely vegetarian to reduce your footprint, but try shifting the emphasis of your meals to plant-based proteins such as beans and legumes. These meals not only require fewer resources, reducing your footprint, but also benefit your health.

2. Eat more locally grown and organic

Another green dietary change is to start paying attention to locally grown and organic products. These changes will reduce the amount of pesticides in the environment but also your body. So hit up ozone cafe on Fridays!

3. Walk or bike more often

Anther change that is also better for your body!

4. Turn off all lights or electronics when not being used

Two-thirds of all the electricity used in the United States comes from residential lights and appliances. It is such an easy habit to change, and the results are significant.

5. Start composting and recycling

The EPA estimates that only about 30 percent of waste that can get recycled or composted actually does. Recycling is so easy to do and can really help the environment!

6. Stop using plastic water bottles

Plastic water bottles are the biggest waste of money and resources. Reusable water bottles are the way to go!

7. Look for products made from recycled materials

Using recycled materials cuts energy and material needs. Also, look for products with minimal packaging, and check for information on the use of plastics or chemicals during production.

8. Spend more time in nature

You can't be expected to want to save the world if you don't love it. Spend more time outside and get in touch with mother nature!
