This past week, I was lucky enough to visit the fabulous country of Ireland. I had an absolute blast and would 10/10 recommend that everyone check this very underrated country off their bucket list. While the country is filled with amazing things to do, here are a few of my favorite things that I think everyone should experience while there!
1. Go to Murrays in Dublin
Murray's was the last stop on our Dublin tour and let me tell you, it's pretty great. The food is awesome, the people are so nice, and they have traditional Irish dancers and music which shamROCK.
2. Drive on the opposite side of the road
If you didn't drive on the wrong side and get a picture, did you really go to Ireland? While I personally was not allowed to drive, my mom drove the entire time and honestly, she did pretty good. The only real different thing that we noticed was the lack of stop signs and the abundance of roundabouts. Oh, and the one lane roads that have been made to fit two cars.
3. Get a selfie with an Irish cow.
There's just something about these cows that is different than American cows. Maybe they are cuter, maybe it's all the green behind them. But it doesn't really matter because look at that face!!
4. Eat some real, true Irish breakfast
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? So why not add some eggs, mushrooms, brown bread, salami and Irish bacon (which is really just small ham)?? This is a serious breakfast.
5. Hit up the Dingle Peninsula
Four hours from Dunlin, it's like going to a whole different country. The rolling hills, the sheep, the ocean (oh my gosh the ocean), and the potato farms are all a sight that must be seen when you're there. The drive around the peninsula is about an hour and a half or two if you aren't counting how often you'll stop to take pictures.
6. Go see the Cliffs of Moher
Honestly, pictures don't do this place justice. I didn't really understand what all the hubbub was about but when I got there, WOWZERS is this place amazing!
7. Take advantage of the lower drinking age
When in Ireland, right?? Honestly, Ireland is the home of Guinness so I decided to try it. And I absolutely hated it. Next best thing though is the hard cider which I 100% recommend.
8. Go for a gallop on an Irish Cob on the beach in Dingle.
Horses, beach, the greens, and the blues. What more could anyone want?? Shout out to Longs for helping me accomplish my young 19-year-old
There ya have it, folks. Eight things that everyone must accomplish while on their excursion throughout the lovely country of Ireland. Hang out with the locals and drink an overrated Guinness while at it!!
