8 Disney Movies You've Probably Forgotten About

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s means that you have had the honor and privilege of being exposed to some of the greatest movies of all times. As a nostalgic college student, I have been on the hunt for movies that I remember from my childhood. Some of them were obvious Disney movies, but there were a few that caught me by surprise when I saw them. Why each of these movies were not regularly shown, is a mystery. So, without further ado, here are 8 Disney movies that you've probably forgotten about:

1. Pixel Perfect

This Disney Channel Original is probably the weirdest one of them all. The story involves Roscoe (Raviv Ullman from Phil of the Future) creating a hologram to be the lead singer of his best friend's band. The band becomes successful once the Holograpic girl, Loretta, joins. Despite the success, Samantha, Roscoe's best friend, feels left out. There is a whirlwind of drama, and the strangest part of this movie is when Loretta (the hologram) struggles with her individuality... which is confusing since she is a computer program. Nevertheless, everyone has forgotten this Disney Original and it is forever archived under Disney's weirdest and most forgettable movies. And I'm sure finding this movie online is the real struggle.

2. Atlantis: The Lost Empire

This is one of the most underrated movies of all time. Disney princess movies have all been at the forefront of most girl's lives, yet Kida (an Atlantian) has been hidden in their shadows. The story is from Milo Thatch's point of view. Milo is a nerdy, yet determined, boiler room operator who has been looking for the lost city of Atlantis since he was a child. In a desperate attempt to live out his grandfather's dreams, he uses his resources to find the shepherd's journal. Each and every character is perfectly portrayed and has amazing one-liners.

I have watched this movie hundreds of times, and it never gets old. If you enjoy any of Disney's animated movies, check this one out. You won't be disappointed.

3. Treasure Planet (Can be found on Netflix)

Here is another one of Disney's most underrated movies. It also happens to have some of the best color and animation. If you like strange characters, being adventurous, and finding hidden treasure, then look no further! This futuristic movie includes flying ships, space creatures, and parallel dimensions. Despite how random this movie sounds, it is actually of good quality.

4. Smart House

This movie is iconic. Growing up I always wanted to move into a cool computerized house. The story surrounds a small family who moves into a brand new high-tech home. While the family is dealing with their own issues, the kids acting up, their father dating new people, etc. the house literally comes to life. If anyone remembers this movie, then you have been truly blessed because this is as good as the early 2000s gets.

5. Now You See It

Not to be confused with a similar movie, Now You See Me, this Disney original has become extinct. I hope that some day I can come across a DVD (or even a VHS for that matter) copy of this movie. Aly Michalka portrays an aspiring producer who joins a reality TV show team. However, this is no ordinary reality show. This TV show is looking for the best and most talented magicians. The concept is really interesting and who doesn't love a good Disney mystery?

6. Get a Clue

This movie will forever be one of the scariest movies of my childhood. Looking back on it now, it really wasn't a scary movie at all... but I digress. This Disney mystery stars a young Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song who are determined to find out what happened to their missing teacher. Not only is the story well-crafted, but also LOOK AT THEIR CLOTHING. If this doesn't scream quality movie, then I don't know what does.

7. Model Behavior

This movie is a Justin Timberlake classic. If you weren't swooning over him at this point in your life, this movie definitely put you over the edge. The main characters are two identical girls (played by the same actress) who live completely different lives. When they finally meet each other, they decide to switch places. One girl becomes "normal" while the other girl enters the high-stakes life of a model. Eventually, they are caught in the act, but they do end up with some pretty good looking guys.

8. Brother Bear (can be found on Netflix)

Nothing is cuter or more heartbreaking than this movie right here. I even remember going to see this in the movie theater. This Disney movie is definitely one of the sadder ones, but it also is the most heartwarming. A native tribe of people are ransacked by bears and, in an attempt to get revenge for his brother's death, Kenai gets turned into a bear. As he searches for a way to turn himself back into a human, he realizes that a tiny bear cub is his newest responsibility. Being an animal lover really makes you appreciate seeing the world through a bear's eyes. There are also some adorably hilarious moose friends who really set the atmosphere.

I could go on for hours with more movies that have been forgotten, but I will stop here. If you would like me to write a part 2, be sure to share my post! I hope I have now shed some light on your new weekend activities. This one is for all those introverts out there! Thanks for reading. :)

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
