"I wish I had naturally straight hair."

Eight Curly Hair Problems

Girls, curly hair can be a real pain in the a$$. Bad hair days are the worst and curly hair brings an abundance of them. Especially when you have Beyonce who totally slays the curls, it is a lot to live up to and impossible to reach those expectations. So to all you curly hair girls, I feel your pain.

1. Always on the hunt for the right product

To keep those curls tight and looking right, you got to use something. It’s no easy task to try all the different products off the shelves. It’s like a scavenger that isn’t fun.

2. Don’t even think about brushing your hair when it’s dry

Unless you are trying to go as a lion for Halloween, you just cannot brush your hair when it is dry. It just does not end well.

3. The blow dryer is no friend of yours

If you have curly hair, you better set aside a lot of time to let it air dry before you get your hair did. Just like running a brush through it, your end result is a bush on top of your head.

4. When you straighten it, it just curls right back up

Girls with curly just wish they had naturally straight hair 90% of the time. Not only does it take FOREVER to straighten out the curls, you come to find you just wasted a large portion of time because the curls start coming back as soon as you are done.

5. Resorting to your go-to hairstyle- the top knot

God bless the top knot, honestly. I would have pulled a Britney circa 2009 a long time ago due to all the bad hair days. No matter the time or place, the top knot saves lives.

A pillowcase would work too.

6. Humidity is the enemy

Your curls might have tame and calm until you stepped outside. What was once a head of beautiful curls just turned into a ball of frizz. Thank G for the top knot, am I right?

7. Waking up to a mess

Just don't ever expect a pretty sight when you wake up in the morning.

8. The rarity but blessed day your hair is actually in curls

The days are few and limited but when your hair is down and the curls are looking right, you say to yourself, “I love having curly hair.”

Whether you are about to shave your head or you are embracing your curls, curly hair is no easy task and is a job within itself. But at the end of the day, girls would kill for killer curls. So despite the hardships, curly hair is where it’s at.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
