8 Of The Best Ways To Procrastinate
My Time Management

I am not saying you should do these. Don’t get me wrong though, procrastinating can be 1. So much fun and 2. Super productive sometimes. Procrastination gets a bad rep. It doesn’t have to be like that. Here are 8 of the best ways to procrastinate in a good way. I mean, as good a procrastinating can get.

  1. Responding to emails: You always open the emails and never respond during the week. Take the time that you should be doing other things and respond to all of those important emails. Even some of the unimportant ones too. I mean while you’re at it?
  2. Doing your laundry: I know that is one of the worst chores to do, but sometimes it is better than doing that computer science homework you have. You also get clean clothes out of it too. That’s fun
  3. Changing your sheets: I know so far all of my suggestions have been various different chores that you know you should really be doing on the weekend. But I am telling you the key to productive procrastination is to make sure you do the stuff that has been on your to-do list since last weekend. Even though it isn’t the homework you’re really supposed to be doing, you still get to feel ok about it when you get into your freshly made bed at an absurd hour of the night because you decided to do that instead of your homework.
  4. Go off campus for a snack: That’s just fun. Snacks. Off campus. Driving. Music. That’s so fun.
  5. Making a playlist: The irony is spending 45 minutes making a studying playlist while you should really be studying…
  6. Going for a walk/run: Obviously whichever suits you but the weather has been unreal lately. Getting out there and getting fit is a great way to avoid the massive amounts of responsibility that are waiting in the library for you.
  7. Ordering different things from Starbucks: If the line is 10 minutes long and then you wait for your drink for 5 and socialize for 5 more. That’s a 20 minute break plus caffeine that is probably only going to help you procrastinate more.
  8. Getting an update about EVERYONE’S weekend: Even people you aren’t very close to. Why not see how they are doing? How was their weekend? Anything new and newsy? Now, you are more informed but more behind on the work than ever. Priorities.

Clearly I am too good at procrastinating. I am actually doing it right now. Gotta sign off. More behind than ever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
