1. The Living Room Cafe

With two locations, the Living Room is a great study spot. Both locations feature cozy living room-esque furniture, you will feel at home here. The El Cajon Boulevard location is right next to campus, while the La Jolla location offers an ocean view that is worth the drive.

2. LeStat's

Also complete with couches, Lestat's is another great way to spend you Sunday study dates. The unique art and fun coffee choices, it gives a trendier vibe. On a main street, you can window shop during your much-deserved study break.

3. The SDSU Koi Pond

Right on campus, this area is a great choice for between classes. Rarely busy and complete with the relaxing flow of water, I definitely recommend trading in the library for this outdoor spot on a sunny afternoon.

4. Balboa Park

Next to the beautiful fountain, they added tables and bright umbrellas in the middle of the square. With adorable families as white noise, it reminds college students that life exists outside of our little world.

5. College-Rolando Library

This hidden library is less than two miles from campus. Most students study at the SDSU library, so during finals week it can be a great hideaway. Also, OrderUp will deliver so it can't get much better than that!

6. Communal Coffee

Also known as coffee + flowers, this cafe lives up to its name. Grab a lavender latte or Mexican mocha on your way in to enjoy while you study and flowers on your way out. With tables outside and flower arrangements, it's perfect for the typical beautiful day in San Diego.

7. Windansea Beach

One of the most quiet beaches in San Diego, it is the perfect way to get out while being productive. Grab your tanning lotion, towel, and book to hit the beach! Invite a quiet friend or two and turn it into the perfect beach day.

8. La Jolla Shores

With this many beaches, you have to study at more than just one! La Jolla Shores feature benches. Picnics and homework at the beach? Yes, please! Right above the beaches you can find tons of shops and restaurants as a reward for all of your hard work.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
