Within the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, people often find themselves caught up in their daily happenings, and, consequently, aren’t able to allow themselves a chance to breathe.

In between daily responsibilities, it has become something of a social norm to listen to music through headphones.

Although seemingly insignificant, this time is crucial for recharging our batteries. Having said that, if you choose to listen to music during your break time, you may want to take into consideration what you’re listening to and how it will affect your mood for the remainder of a surely hectic day.

Here are 8 artists you need to be listening to between your daily responsibilities:

1. Daniel Caesar

The Canadian R&B singer/songwriter’s most recent album, "Freudian," is a strong record with many amazing tracks. With help from Kali Uchis, H.E.R. and Charlotte Day Wilson, Caesar’s songs are both calming and melodious.

Recommended: "Get You" (feat. Kali Uchis), "The Best Part" (feat. H.E.R), and "Japanese Denim" (Single)

2. Frank Ocean

After the highly successful "Channel ORANGE" in 2012, Ocean released Blonde which has soared in popularity. Although Frank is a very versatile artist with a vast amount of talent, many of his songs are peaceful and are perfect for recharging.

Recommended: " Pink and White ," "Solo," and "Sierra Leone" (Channel ORANGE)

3. Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson’s music has the ability to transport your mind to a place far away, generally somewhere on a sunny beach where worries are known to disappear.

Recommended: " Banana Pancakes ," "Washing Dishes," and "Radiate (From Here To Now To You)"

4. Angus and Julia Stone

This pair is most known for their 2010 hit, "Big Jet Plane," and since then have continued to combine their voices into something continually beautiful. While these songs typically are centered around love and being in love, the voices at their core are soft and relieving.

Recommended: " The Devil’s Tears ," and "Santa Monica Dream"

5. Mac Demarco

Although sometimes undeniably bizarre, Mac Demarco’s soft voice acts as therapeutic during a time of stress as his song lyrics typically have nothing to do with anything of any relevance. The happy-go-lucky-type beats translate into a very satisfying sound.

Recommended: " Passing Out Pieces ," "Ode to Viceroy," and "My Kind of Woman"

6. Miguel

An angel of all things R&B, Miguel’s soothing voice makes any song more beautiful. In addition to his delightful voice, his songs are always able to calm me down.

Recommended: " Adorn ," "Do You…," and "What’s Normal Anyway"

7. John Mayer

Known by many, John Mayer is an unquestionable icon of soft rock. His melodies are peaceful as well as meaningful.

Recommended: " Slow Dancing in a Burning Room ," and "Free Fallin’"

8. Oh Wonder

The male/female duo are known to produce soft-grooving tunes that incorporate a twist of R&B and Indie. Having said that, the songs are catchy and light as well as simple.

Recommended: "Lose It," and "Drive, Lifetimes"

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
