The countdown until Christmas has begun and the excitement is palpable everywhere. Everyone is filling their relatives' inboxes with hints about what they want under the tree on December 25th. Alabama fans are no exception, but I would argue that their lists don't include socks or a sweater (unless they have the Alabama logo on them, of course). Here are some things that probably do make their list:
1. For the Kick Six narrative to die.
Every Alabama fan in the world desperately wants Verne and Gary to stop bringing up the Kick Six. Verne is retired now, so will that kill the narrative? Let's hope so. No, we don't have a second, we have three years of wins over Auburn.
2. For Nick Saban to stay forever.
I shudder thinking of the day that we say goodbye to Coach Saban. The best gift of all this Christmas would be a lifelong contract.
3. For people to stop calling Alabama overrated.
I don't deny that the SEC is in a down year. I also don't deny our sixteen national championships and undefeated regular season. If we are overrated, who is underrated?
4. Anything with the Alabama logo on it.
I just purchased an ugly Christmas sweater covered with the logo and I am unashamed. I think most Alabama fans could fill a closet with their merchandise, but let's be honest, it's never enough.
5. More room for statues and championship plaques.
The Walk of Champions is full...what happens if we win another championship? We should probably get started on a sky bridge over the stadium. Statues of our Heisman winners would also be neat.
6. For all of the seniors to be first round draft picks.
I can't wait to watch them carry on their greatness in the National Football League. There is nothing better than watching the players' dreams come true.
7. No injuries
I know Eddie Jackson will recover and play in the NFL, but I'm still crying over his absence. I don't think my heart can take any more injuries.
8. A National Championship
This is literally all I want for Christmas. Roll Tide!
