I actually have not lived in a small town my whole life.
I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. I then moved to Blairsville, GA.
I stayed there all the way from 4th grade to 12th grade. That town is even smaller than the town that I currently reside in which is Carrollton, GA. It wasn't until I could actually drive and do stuff with my friends till I realized that there are some certain things that really only people from a small town understand.
You know you're from a small town if you go literally anywhere and you always see someone you know. I mean seriously small towns are known for this. I also used to be a waitress so I really couldn't go anywhere without someone recognizing me.
You know you're from a small town if you and your friends just go hang out at Walmart for no unknown reason at 3AM because you're bored and that is the only thing open.
You know you're from a small town if you and your friends go to Waffle House after hanging out all night long at someone's house.
You know you're from a small town if you invite your friends to go get gas and go to get groceries with.
You know you're from a small town if everything in your town closes after 9PM.
You know you're from a small town if everyone is related to everyone.
You know you're from a small town if you can walk everywhere.
You know you're from a small town if you can go to bed at night without locking your front door and your car door.
You know you're from a small town if the town is dead Sunday mornings because everyone is in church.
You know you're from a small town if everyone went to the same school their whole life.

I wouldn't have traded growing up in a small town for anything. Everyone is so nice, and the towns are so cute. There may not be a lot of things to do when you're trying to grow up, but you will be glad you grew up there in the end.
