I think it’s fair to say that it’s time to put 2016 behind us. For some of us, this year has been an emotional rollercoaster filled with highs and lows. It was fun while it lasted but I think we all need to start off 2017 on a clean slate. It’s time to be the best version of myself that I can be, and here's how:

1. Hit The Gym

Ah, yes, probably the most popular new year's resolution there is. Everyone says it; “this year I promise to go to the gym more and eat healthily.” You’ll do it for the first two weeks, a month tops if you’re lucky. However, we all know by the time February hits you’re stuffing your faces with chocolate chunk ice cream.

2. Do Better In School

Listen, mom, it’s harder than it looks. I get it though, grades are important. So if I have to push myself to spend more time in the library then so be it. Maybe I'll cut down from going out 4 nights a week to only 3… who am I kidding.

3. Save My Money

Instead of eating out almost every night it would probably be a good idea for me to start saving my money, or dare I say it, get a job. Besides, food isn’t the only thing I should be spending my money on. You can’t possibly forget about clothes, makeup, and all that fun stuff. Adios Chipotle, until we meet again.

4. Spend Less Time On Social Media

This is a tough one. How on earth am I going to go throughout my day without knowing who Sydney is with on Snapchat? Or without those totally hysterical memes on Instagram? I guess I'll start actually hanging out with my friends instead of stalking them on Facebook, ugh.

5. Meet New People

You’ve heard the expression “make new friends but keep the old ones” right? As much as I love my home friends or the girls in my sorority, I should branch out a little bit and hang out with people who I normally wouldn't. Who knows, maybe I’ll find some cool new friends.

6. Cut Down On Caffeine

A girl needs her coffee in the morning, but I guess three times a day is a tad excessive.

7. Get More Sleep

Though my after school naps are the one thing I look forward to throughout the day, maybe I wouldn’t need them if I put my phone down and went to sleep earlier.

Here you will find a list of many of the people you will come across in your life, and if you're lucky, you'll be able to give a name to all these characters that you hopefully see day to day. Don't take these friends for granted because they all add a little something to your life, and if you can't name all of them to your personal friends, chances are it might be you...

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
