Many people don’t know that the entire month of March is Women’s History Month! On this month, we “join in paying tribute to the generations of women whose commitment to nature and the planet have proved invaluable to society” click But besides those amazing women that have made lasting impressions on our society in the past, there are many women today that are changing history as we speak! In honor of Women’s History Month, here are a few women that are being fearless, powerful, and inspirational today!
1. Ibtihaj Muhammad
Ibtihaj Muhammad is an Olympic fencer and South by Southwest speaker who happens to be Muslim. She is expected to make history in Brazil this summer because she is going to be the first hijab-wearing woman to represent the U.S. in the Olympics. She is out to challenge hate and intolerance. But her main goal is to place Muslims under a better light.
2. Ashley Graham
Ashley Graham, better known as the woman who is changing the modeling world! This beauty is the first size-16 model to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue. She’s an activist that has set out to break the mold of what a “real woman” should look like.
3. Misty Copeland
Misty Copeland is the first African-American performer to be given the role as a principal dancer for American Ballet Theatre. For centuries, the world has seen few African American performers in classical dance. Her monumental achievement changed the company’s 75-year history of not having an African-American principal dancer!
4. Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton has been a first on many occasions. The former First Lady is the only First Lady to have ever run for public office. She also served as the first-ever female Senator from New York and the U.S. Secretary of State. So far, she’s showing us all that nothing is holding her back!

Malala Yousafzai is the fearless 17-year-old who documented her life as a student in Pakistan. She has become a young leader that promotes education rights, women, and children!

Michelle Obama is an icon to many people around the world. The first ever African-American first lady is the only First Lady that holds two ivy-league degrees. “As First Lady she also supports military families, helps working women balance their careers and families, encourages national service, promotes the arts and arts education, and fosters healthy eating and healthy living for children and families across the country.”
7. Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie serves as an inspiration for many women worldwide. She participates in many roles such as UN Diplomat, actress, and philanthropist. Her courage has shown to break even the toughest barriers; she single-handedly changed the face of breast cancer with her decision to share her double-mastectomy story.
8. Ronda Rousey
Ronda Rousey is an incredible athlete and a pop culture phenomenon. Rousey became the first female fighter to sign with UFC. She opened the doors of opportunity for many female fighters. She also did an incredible shoot with Australian Men’s Fitness magazine and became the first woman to go on the cover!
9. Beyonce
Beyonce, also known as Queen B, is an inspiration for many people. She has tested many boundaries and has come up on top. She uses her stardom to ignite the fight for gender equality. She is also known for incorporating feminism into many of her performances including novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s The Very Definition of Feminism in the middle of a hit single!
10. Emma Watson
Emma Watson is not your stereotypical actress. This 25-year-old has become an accredited actress, feminist, and philanthropist. At the age of 24, Watson became the United Nations Women Goodwill ambassador and launched the “He for She” campaign with an incredible speech on gender equality.

Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook and author of bestseller “Lean In.” She helped bridge the business case for unleashing a women’s full potential in the workplace. She inspires women everywhere!
