Now that the semester is over, it's time for college student to being their long winter's nap. It's winter break and you have several weeks off from school in front of you. What do you plan to in the coming weeks? Do you plan to travel? Work? Just spend it with family? Or, are you like me and don't have the slightest clue of what you are going to do over break? Well, if your like and don't have an major plans, here's a list of ideas to get you started.

1. Disney Movie Marathon

Why not re-watch some classics like Cinderella or Snow White? This could be the perfect chance to reunite with some friends over break and make a day of bonding a fellowship out of it. Or it could become a new family tradition to do on New Years' Eve while waiting to watch the ball drop at midnight. Pick out your favorites then break out the popcorn and blankets, and snuggle up on the couch for some nostaglia of childhood.

2. Hobbies

With all the down time ahead, search Pinterest or YouTube for a new hobby. It could be anything from crafting scarves and hats to making artwork, the sky's the limit. This is also the perfect time to practice a hobby you have started, but haven't mastered. Maybe you're like me and can kind of crochet, but you actually can't do more than a single row? Then spend your time off from school learning and maybe mastering a hobby.

3. Read

Take some time to relax this break and read a book. This could be an excuse for all you bookworms out there to go buy a new book or to re-read an old favorite. Or if you're currently not a bookworm, find a good book. Ask your friends and family for suggestion and then get reading. Maybe this will spark an inner love for reading with in you. Pick a book and escape for a while and enjoy a good read.

4. Learn a Song

Take advantage of the time and pick a song you like an learn to sing it. Even if your not great vocalist, singing helps with stress levels. Find a lyric video on YouTube and spend some time learning your jam. Then when you and your friends are together and your song comes on, you can impress them with knowing all the words. Trust me, I can't wait to show off knowing all the lyrics to My Shot from Hamiliton. If you need a song to pick, I suggest Hamilton. It's great!

4.Go Caroling

Gather a group of friends and spread some Christmas cheer! You don't all have to be blessed with spectacular voices. Pick a night a walk around the a neighborhood and go door to door and sing Christmas carols. You never know how much it means to someone until you do it. Afterwards, go to someones house for hot chocolate and cookies to warm up and to keep the cheer flowing. After all Buddy The Elf did say, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!"

5. Go Outside

Living in Western PA, I am so lucky to have a very snow-filled winter. Why not embrace what you did as a child and play in the snow. As long as you bundle up and take breaks to make sure you warm up before you head back out. Playing in the snow with friends allows to get creative. Maybe build a snowman, an igloo, or something else out of the snow. If rolling around in the snow isn't your forte, get a group of friends and go snowtubing. Take adavntage of the powdery goodness and get out there!

6. Make something

Now, your probably all cookied-out. But use this time to make something. It doesn't have to be food. Maybe you make a calander a out of paint chips or make a dry erase board with a picture frame, make what whatever your heart desires. Maybe if you make something cool like art or a calander, you can take it back to your dorm room. Or you can give it as Christmas gift to someone. Sometimes a homemade gift means more than a store bought one.

7.Pamper Yourself

Since the semester just finished, take sometime to pamper yourself and release all the stress from the end of the semester. Get your nails done, buy a face mask (or better yet, make one!), and other things that help you feel refreshed. This can help clear your head before the new semester slams into you again. You can make it into a group thing too! Spend time relaxing with your mom, sister, other ladies in the family, or you girlfriends. It can all help you relax and have some "me-time."

There's seven things to get you started over this long break so you can do more than Netflix and Chill all day. Maybe alternate that with one of the seven ideas? Enjoy this time off and rest up, there's another semester coming sooner than you think!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
