Having a busy lifestyle often means being more stressed. From meetings to classes to work, it may seem like you rarely have a moment to sit down and relax. No matter how busy you are, it's important to prioritize your mental health and take a breather. Here are 7 quick ways you can relieve stress when you never have time to relax.

1. Exercise

No matter how busy you are, spare 20-30 minutes for a rigorous workout. Exercising will help you to let out frustrations you have about the day and take your mind off anything that's bothering you. This stress reliever is good for both mental AND physical health.

2. Listen to your favorite song

When you feel overwhelmed, listen to your favorite song. It'll help to cheer you up; you'll find it impossible to resist bopping along.

3. Take deep breaths

Sound cliche, but it works. If stress is taking over your mindset and is all you can focus on, slowly breathe in and out a few times. This can easily be done in any setting and covertly as well.

4. Make tea

Or hot chocolate. Or whatever warm drink you like. Taking a couple of minutes away from your task will allow your mind to free up for a bit, and the warm drink will help to soothe you.

5. Go outside

Sometimes fresh air is the best thing for you. If you start to feel sweaty and overheated, take a few to go outside, cool off, and gather your thoughts.

6. Think positive

Rather than think about something that will drag your mood down, such as all the things you need to get done on a tight deadline, think about something positive. Let your mind wander to happy moments in your life or something good happening in your life at the moment. Focus on the positives, not the negatives.

7. Cheer yourself on and get support from others

Even though you have a busy life and may feel overwhelmed, just think about all that you are getting done. You are strong. Don't be afraid to get support and help from others if you need it. You can do it!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
