After the day is over, and you're laying in bed thinking, do you feel fulfilled? Did you accomplish everything you wanted? Too many times the answer to those questions is no. You lay there and think about all the things you could have done or should have done or didn't do because you just didn't have the time. Now you're wondering if you will ever have time for yourself to do anything ever again. Take a deep breath and relax. It is easier than you think to have a more fulfilling day. All you have to do is make few changes and commitments. If you're willing, then I can almost guarantee that you will feel more accomplished and satisfied at the day's end.
1. Wake up
It is time to stop hitting that snooze button and get out of bed at the same time each day, and the earlier the better. This will help get your body into a routine. Eventually, you will find that it won't be so difficult waking up earlier because your body will get accustomed to it. You may even find that you will wake up before the alarm goes off.
2. Eat a good breakfast
If you want a strong start to the day, it begins by eating a healthy breakfast. Make sure to hit the right food groups, and stay away from sugary items. Filling your tummy with fresh fruits and protein will help you start the day right, and you may discover that you are more productive and energized throughout the day.
3. Exercise
Whether its a walk during your lunch break or a dance session jamming out to your favorite tune, exercising will help release stress and benefit your wellness in general. Schedule time to exercise and make it part of your routine. Work out or participate in fun active outings with friends and keep each other accountable. Your body will thank you for choosing to live a more active lifestyle.
4. Hang out with friends
Eat lunch with your friends or coworkers, go out to a movie together, or just chill at one of your buddy's house for a relaxing night in. Whatever you decide, just relax and unwind. Try not to talk about work or worry that you should be doing something. Just enjoy the moment and cherish the time to laugh and have fun. You deserve to just be carefree for a portion of the day.
5. Talk to your loved ones
Nothing can make your day better than knowing you are surrounded by the people you love. So show that love and appreciation. Tell your mom, dad, significant other, and anyone who positively impacts your life how special they are to you. Not only will they feel appreciated, but you can bet that they will show you that same love in return, and wouldn't you feel amazing if someone told you that you're special to them?
6. Get outside
Everyone needs their daily dose of vitamin D and fresh air. Don't stay cooped up all day behind a desk or in the house. Enjoy the outdoors and get refreshed. If it's raining, dance in the rain without a care in the world. If it's sunny, then get out there and soak up the sun. Don't let the weather deter you from spending time outside. The cold never bothered you anyway, right?
7. Sleep and repeat
One of the easiest bad habits to fix is not getting a good night's rest. Disciplining yourself into going to bed earlier will allow you to get the proper amount of REM cycles that you need in order to be in a deep sleep that will rejuvenate you. Your body needs to recover after the long day, and the only way to do that is to sleep. Plus, to wake up early means to go to bed early and get at least seven hours of sleep each night.
Now REPEAT!
There are many more ways to brighten your day, feel more fulfilled, and to be more productive. Find what motivates you, and get going!
