With all the pressure on students to succeed these days, studying is really a must. While there are other factors, grades are becoming a bigger and bigger deal in terms of college applications and success in general. Studying is so important. I used to be one of those kids. I never studied. I never even did homework or paid attention in class, but I would ace every single test. Oh, to be middle school me again... But now that I'm in high school, I've begun to study. I've felt the late-night stress and the last-minute cramming to get good grades. Studying is a new experience for me, and here are some tips I picked up on this new journey:
1. Don't procrastinate.
This is the most basic tip that you've probably heard a thousand times and ignored, but don't. Just don't. It will kill you. It will make you sad and stressed. You will break out. You will sleep in class. You will cry. Don't procrastinate.
2. Turn off your phone.
This one kills me too, guys, but I promise it's helpful. Without distractions, you can get your work done much faster, and then you can have relaxing phone-time uninterrupted.
3. Study with a friend.
Friends are so helpful for getting things done. They are really motivating and can help you when you're confused. And plus, after you're done studying, you can have as much fun as you want.
4. Make acronyms.
Acronyms are really helpful for remembering things, and they're really fun to come up with.
5. Organize your space.
Organization will help you find everything easily, making you study faster. It might take a while, but it'll be worth it in the end.
6. Take a break.
Taking short breaks will refresh your mind, leaving it recharged for the next round of studying. Just be careful not to get too engrossed in your break and forget studying!
7. Reward yourself.
Lastly, give yourself what you deserve. You work hard! Reward yourself! And keep going!
Happy studying!
