Winter break is finally here, and while it's an exciting time to finally be able to relax from the stress of classes, there are many ways you can spend that time. You can use your time proactively or leisurely. Here is a list of 7 things you can do to get through your month away from classes.

1. Get a part-time job.

Even though this time is for relaxing, getting a part time job is a great way to take off some of the stress of your spring semester. Whether you use the money for school related items or just for some extra spending money, a part-time job is a great way to stay on top of your game during the winter.

2. Volunteering.

If you're not really interested in getting a job during your break, why not try volunteering some time during your break. There are usually many winter themed opportunities you can find, it just takes looking around your community.

3. Achieving your New Year's resolution for this year.

We rarely stick to our New Year's resolution list, so why not try to finish it now? You'll have a few weeks to do so.

4. Find a new show to binge-watch on Netflix.

It's no secret that Netflix is a great way to pass time. Now you won't have to feel bad that it's cutting into your study time.

5. Catch up on all the sleep you lost.

We all definitely need to.

6. Start planning for your next semester.

While it may not be the most intriguing thing, it's a good thing to go ahead and get some of that planning out of the way; whether it's buying textbooks or making some last minute purchases for your dorm.

7. Have fun.

This is a break, so in the midst of all the work you have, don't forget to still have fun!

Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving.
