7 Ways Mr. Darcy Ruined Us All

Mr. Darcy. A man with so much handsome, aristocratic polish, that varnish would be jealous. A literary work of perfection. I wish I could say that this article will have a good thesis, but the only lede I can promise is: Mr. Darcy. Basically, this piece will be entirely dedicated to ogling and “fangirling” over the infamous Fitzwilliam Darcy.

1. Not only is Mr. Darcy born into a life where he ought to be gentlemanly, his character progresses into a self-sacrificing chivalrous god.

2. He is an INTJ, and let’s be real, they are the best (I’m an INTJ as well, and somehow, that makes me feel closer to him).

3. This man is upfront with his feelings. Let’s be real, is there anything more attractive?

4. It doesn't matter how rude he's being, pride can only go so far when faced by the perfection of Mr. Darcy.

5. His smile. Need I say more? #swoon

6. It doesn’t matter how cynical he looks, a man who drinks tea like a gentleman is a man worth loving forever.

7. In the end, whether you preferred Colin Firth or Matthew Macfadyen’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy, I think we can all agree that he is the pure definition of a babe.

So, to leave you all with the stars in your eyes and the warmth of love in your hearts, here is one of the most swoon-worthy quotes, “You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me on this subject for ever." Respectful and seductive. Aside from his pride and prejudice, I think we can all agree that after finding his perfection within the confines of a paper spine, we all have a soft spot for tall brunettes.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
