Oh Valentine's Day! For some, it's a day to celebrate the ones they love and an opportunity to do it without judgement. For others, it's a day full of bitter memories and feelings because honestly who cares about this Hallmark holiday, am I right? For some it's just an excuse to shower your friends, family, and pets with love and treats, who doesn't love treats?

Whatever Valentine's Day means to you, it's without a doubt a prime opportunity to spend some time lovin on the most important person in your life...you! Without you there is no 'your life' so why not spend a day or a couple of hours loving you and all that is your glorious self! Here are 7 ideas to do just that this upcoming holiday!

1. Treat Yo Self!

Forget someone else buying you a gift, you know you better than anyone! Indulge in your interests and take a trip to the mall. Buy yourself that dress that accentuates your favorite features, even if you return it next week. Get that twenty dollar film you saw in theaters that isn't on Netflix yet. Buy the newest Sims and play it for hours. Whatever it is, buy it enjoy it and regret it later. Today is about you!

2. Pamper yourself!

Maybe you can't afford to go to the spa, but why not turn your bathroom into one? Light some candles, pour yourself a glass of wine, grab that bath bomb you've been meaning to try, sit back and enjoy. You deserve some peace and quiet even if it's only for twenty minutes until the water gets cold.

3. Cook yourself your favorite meal

Pizza, Pasta, Popcorn, whatever it is that makes your tastebuds happy and your stomach thank you, take some time to cook your favorite meal. If you don't like to cook, why not learn to cook your favorite meal? Pinterest is full of inspiration.

4. Don't forget desert!

Baking doesn't have to be difficult. Grab a box of baking mix from the store, a bowl, and a spoon and you're ready to go. Baking has been shown to decrease stress levels, and its results are just as comforting. Do not underestimate the power of a good chocolate chip cookie!

5. Make a kickass playlist and dance it out

Move the coffee table and break out your loudest speakers. Dancing can be one of the best pick me ups and it'll burn some calories from your earlier dinner/baking. Dance like no one is watching!

6. Rent your favorite movie and get together with your single friends

Galentine's Day, Guylentines Day, it doesn't have to be about significant others. Call up your single friends, rent a movie, make some snacks and enjoy your time together. No pressure of dressing up and spending money on expensive drinks, just single friend fun.

7. Dress up and hit the town

Sometimes staying home and binging Netflix with friends is what we need to feel good. Other times, dressing up and going out is the key to a good night. If #6 doesn't work for your group of friends, this will surely be a hit. Pull out that sparkly number that's been hanging in the back of your closet, strap on your tallest or comfiest shoes, tame that mane and head into the night. Who knows what or who could be waiting for you...

Whatever you decide to do just do something that's guaranteed to make you feel good. Treat yourself how you'd treat your Valentine!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
