If you're anything like me, winter is literally your least favorite time of the year. The sun is out less and less - which makes me want to stay in bed more and more. Who wants to walk out into the freezing world when you could easily curl up in your sheets and watch movies or read books all day?

However, there are plenty of fun activities that you can participate in or simple tweaks you can make to your daily routine to help kick those winter blues out the door and on their way out of your life.

1. Exercise

The benefits to exercise are numerous. We've all heard that exercising increases our endorphin levels, which in turn makes us happier. I think the greatest concept of exercise is that we can all find something that works. Maybe it's walking on a treadmill, or maybe it's lifting heavy weights, but whatever you chose to do, keep a consistent routine.

2. Listen to music

I LOVE blasting the music in my car on my way home and singing along to help relieve stress. Even when I'm driving home in the darkness of winter, cranking the music up helps me feel energized. Better yet? Pair your music with your exercise routine! :)

3. Plan a vacation

When you're stuck inside all winter, it's easy to succumb to the good old winter blues. Plan a trip! Thinking about the sun shining down on you and the palm trees will surely lift your mood in a giff.

4. Try something new

Nothing lifts my mood like challening myself to a new task. Always wanted to learn the banjo? Want to try a new karate move? Ready to start writing your novel? This is the perfect time to start!

5. Revisit the greats of childhood

I think it might be an activity of the past, but I LOVE bowling! And winter is such a great time to go out and bowl! I mean, come on, who doesn't love a little glow bowl with all the neon and black lights?!

Or legos! Or color! I mean literally anything from childhood is perfect to lift your spirits on a winter day.

6. Treat yo'self

When you're feeling down, sometimes the best course of action is to treat yo self! For me, that often means a manicure or pedicure, a bubble bath with some candles and wine, munching on some Christmas chocolate, or a massage from my hubby. Treat yo self to what makes you happy!

7. Embrace the Cold

Sun is important for our mood. Embrace the cold and have fun. Go for a snow filled walk. Throw snowballs at unsuspecting friends. Make a snow angel. Build a snowman. Whatever it is, have fun and remember that the snow won't be here forever!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
