During this recruitment season, I noticed a few similarities between sororities and Hogwarts houses. Both have a sorting/joining process and they stick together like a family once they find their house. Having a house to belong to is important to Muggles as well as wizards. So if you're sad you never received your Hogwarts letter, maybe being in a sorority will give you a taste of what it might've felt like to belong to a Hogwarts house.

At Hogwarts, the sorting hat will listen to your musings, but ultimately makes the final decision for you.
During rush, you get to rank your houses, but all week long you'll be told: "trust the system" because ultimately the system gives you your bid, whether you like it or not.

Gryffindor values courage and chivalry, Slytherin values ambition and cunning
While Zeta Tau Alpha believes "Love is the greatest of all things", and Delta Gamma desires to "Do Good".
6. You may have to use a secret password.
Gryffindors must tell the common lady their password in order to gain access to the common room.
Some sororities have a password that only initiated members know and must use for certain ceremonies.
7. You all sleep and eat together in the same halls.
At Hogwarts, you eat at the same banquet table and sleep in the same dormitories as the other members of your house.
In a sorority, sisters often eat meals together and many girls live in the houses as well.
