The Mighty

1. Organize your supplies the night before.

New classes mean new books and new notebooks. It can be a bit overwhelming trying to figure out what you need for each class. So the night before check your class syllabus and see which books you'll need for class and which you can leave in your dorm. Once you know which books you need you can throw them in your back pack so you don't have to panic before class and you can relax before class.

2. Plan your outfits the night before.

For some people, outfits make their day. I know that if I wear a nice outfit to class that I feel much better about myself and ready to take on the day. Of course, that comes with it's own anxiety if you're rushing to get ready in the morning. Much like your supplies for class, start getting ready the night before and lay out your outfit for the next day.

3. Keep a planner.

With classes and events on campus, it can be hard to keep up with homework and still have time to enjoy life on campus. Keep a planner with homework and events to remind yourself how long you can put off an assignment for a fun event.

4. Make lists.

Going along with the idea of a planner, make lists with what you have to do. You don't want to have a bunch of scribbles written down to the point you can't read them. Make a To-Do list each day with your homework and chores that need to be down for the day or next day so you can keep everything organized and relax a little.

5. Reward yourself with breaks.

On nights when you find yourself with a lot to do, reward yourself with treats and breaks. Set a goal of how much you want to accomplish each time and in between set some time aside to take breaks and enjoy a treat.

6. Find a buddy or buddies.

Tackling homework and studying can be an issue when you take it on by yourself. Sometimes you doubt your ability to remember what you have to do or you are having trouble with some of the work. This can be solved by buddying up with people in your class or people who have already taken the class. This also helps if you miss classes.

7. Don't forget your meals.

Meals are the most important. Sometimes when you have a new schedule, you forget to work in time for meals. Make sure you find time to get even a small snack or pack some snacks and a drink for class.
