7 Ways Your Boyfriend Shows You He Loves You

Many have said this before and I will say it again: all men are different. Some enjoy playing video games for hours, others love going to the gym, and some would even rather go to a party and let loose. But their differences don't stop there. Another major difference among men is how they express their feelings for someone, especially romantically. And for a lot of guys, the words "I love you" are not the only definite way to say that he loves you. So here are 7 ways your man is saying "I love you" without actually saying it.

1. He pays for (many of) your meals.

I am not saying he has to splurge on your eating habits or give you cash for your morning coffee every day. But if you go on a date night and he instinctively takes out his wallet and pays for both your meals, he might be doing more than just being a gentleman. This is especially important in long-term relationships, where many men forget to simply offer to pay.

2. He takes your hand in public.

This one might seem like a no-brainer for couples, but you'd be surprised how many couples I see around my college campus not holding hands. When a guy reaches for your hand, even if you're just walking around campus, it means he is claiming you. He is showing the world that he is proud to have you as his girlfriend.

3. He gets on your nerves about school.

I know many of us struggle with school on a daily basis and sometimes contemplate quitting altogether. But if your guy takes time out of his busy day to ask if you did that math assignment or finished that english essay, he cares and wants to make sure you do well on school, your first priority.

4. He takes care of you when you're sick.

You have a running fever, have vomited twice on your bathroom floor, or simply have a random cold. The minute you tell him you aren't feeling well, he brings you medicine, or even takes you to the doctor. He even cancels plans with friends to watch your favorite show with you for a few hours. This is a huge indicator that he is not only concerned about your health, but cares about you A LOT.

5. He insists on meeting your parents AND you meeting his.

Now this is a big one. Many college students are only interested in hook-ups or casual dating. If your guy insists on meeting the most important people in your life, and you meeting his, he values you. He values your love for your family so much he wants to be a part of knowing them. And that speaks volumes.

6. He listens to you.

From your sorority drama, to your pet dying, he listens. He may not always be the most attentive to the details, but he lets you vent for as long as you need to, with little complaints. This shows that he is making an effort to get a glimpse into other parts of your life that may not involve or concern him. Him listening is an indicator that even if what you're venting about has little meaning to him, he still thinks it is important.

7. He is your #1 fan.

Whether you had straight A's, or a solid 2.0, he is, literally, your biggest fan. He has seen the hard work you have put into the things that you love, even if they're different than his interests. He has seen you laugh, cry, and struggle and still believes in you. And, above all, he supports you in all you do, no matter what.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
