Here are a few pieces of clothing which I find necessary to survive college days.

1. Leggings

Leggings are a must because they can basically be worn with just about anything. You can dress them up if you are going out or you can wear them with a t-shirt and converse to go for a casual look. Another bonus when it comes to leggings is that they are extremely comfortable.

2. Sweaters

Big, over-sized sweaters not only keep you warm, but they are also extremely comfy. You can wear sweaters with almost anything and they are both dressy and casual depending on what you pair them with. Especially here in the Northeast, sweaters are a must to keep you warm while you are out and about. There are so many different styles when it comes to sweaters so it is almost impossible for a person to not find a style that they like.

3. Jeans

A lot of people don't like wearing jeans, but I think it is important to have at least one pair of jeans that you can wear out for special occasions that require you to put a little extra effort into what you are going to wear. Now I know that ripped jeans are very popular and cute, but it is important to have at least one pair that you would feel comfortable and confident wearing to an important event.

4. Riding Boots

My absolute favorite shoes are my riding boots and I highly recommend that all college girls purchase a pair. They not only last for a long time, but they also look great with basically anything that you pair them with. My favorite look is riding boots with leggings and a big sweater because they are extremely comfy and also looks appealing.

5. Flannels

Flannel shirts are very popular nowadays and are another thing that can be paired with many different things. They come in so various different colors and patterns, which makes them extremely fun. You can pair flannels with either leggings or jeans and it still looks perfect. Flannels can also be layered for extra warmth, which is why they are perfect for the winter.

6. Scarves

If you're like me, then you are always cold. It is safe to say that I wear a scarf almost every day of the week during the winter. Scarves can be worn with sweaters, sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. They come in handy when walking to class because they are another layer of warmth to protect me from the cold. Just like flannels, scarves come in many different colors, patterns, and also styles.

7. College Gear

When you walk around campus or even your residence hall you are likely to see at least 5 people wearing some sort of college apparel. Whether it is a sweatshirt, t-shirt, sweatpants, hats, etc. you are sure to see people sporting some form of college apparel. Many people believe it is showing school spirit, but for some kids dressing in comfy clothes is the ideal go-to outfit. Many schools hand out free shirts left and right, so by the end of the school year you are likely to have a surplus of college apparel.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
