7 Unique & Thoughtful Gift Ideas Every Millennial Must Know

The act of giving gifts has changed slightly over the years. However, the act of giving a gift on special occasions to show how much you love and support someone is not new. Some of us are better at giving gifts than others. If you are lost when it comes to giving gifts, you may need some ideas. Here are 7 unique and thoughtful gift ideas every millennial must know.

Electronics

We live in a digital age. People have put technology in everything nowadays, including light bulbs. Help people stay connected by gifting new electronics. There are a number of gifts to choose from, including:

  • Smartwatch
  • Tablet
  • Fitbit
  • Headphones
  • Alexa
  • Speaker
  • Smart doorbell
  • Smart gadgets
  • Phone

The only problem is that some electronics can be quite expensive. You may want to look into options such as Layaway if you can't afford the cost in full at the time of purchase. Look for deals and reserve electronics as gifts for your close relatives.

Alcohol

If you are giving a gift, it must be a time for celebration. Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, house warming, wedding, holiday, or business achievement, alcohol is usually part of a celebration. Gift some novelty beers or a bottle of wine, champagne, or booze. It will help get the party started. If the host has enough liquor for the event, they can save it for another day. If it is a special or expensive bottle, you can take time to have a glass with the host alone to enjoy it.

Furniture

A person's home is their sanctuary. You want it to be as comfortable as possible. That's why many people gift furniture to help enhance the ambience of the home. This is especially helpful as gifts for young people just starting out on their own. Just make sure that they understand how to care for their furniture so that it doesn't end up stained in a year or two.

Furniture, like electronics, can be quite expensive. You can try out various buying options that are flexible. This is a program offered at some stores where they reserve an item for you, and you regularly pay until you pay it off and get to take it home. This ensures you get the item you want.

Dinner

A nice meal is always a treat. Gift someone a nice evening out with a nice meal by taking them to a restaurant. A professional can make an amazing meal while you and your loved one get the opportunity to chit chat and catch up. It's also a nice excuse to have a glass of wine or a drink. You can choose from casual dining in jeans and a sweatshirt at a pizza place or a nice restaurant that requires gentlemen to wear a jacket. Whatever you style (and budget allows).

Gift Baskets

Let someone else put your gift together for you by looking at some nice gift baskets. You can find gift baskets filled with just about anything. Many of them have a theme. You can find chocolate gift baskets, bacon and whiskey gift baskets, flower gift baskets, or even gothic gift baskets. You still get the chance to customize it to be something your loved one will enjoy. Just make sure to order it well in advance to ensure it is delivered on time.

Interactive Classes

A good present is something that can bring you closer to the recipient. Try a class that you can take together. There are a number of classes to choose from, including painting (while drinking wine) and cooking (while drinking wine). Let the recipient pick the day that you guys go to the class to alleviate any scheduling pressures the gift may put on them. You can also include a couple of additional tickets to make it a group event. Make a whole night of it and use it as a fun bonding experience for everyone.

Concert Tickets

Music can bring people together. If you and your loved one bond over a certain band or music genre, it may be time to go see them live. This is not the best time for going to see live music with the recent pandemic. If venues by you still aren't allowing people in, you can find virtual concerts. If you do go to a live event, make a point to stay safe and healthy.

You want to be thoughtful when giving gifts. You also want the gift to be something that the recipient will truly enjoy. Finally, a good gift will increase the bond you have developed with this person or the bond you hope to create.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
