1. The Obsessed

This girl has done marching band every single year since middle school. She's probably so obsessed with marching band that one day she wants to have one of her own. You could probably catch her in a leadership position since she's been in marching band for so long. Outside of band, all she talks about is more band.

2. The Know-It-All

This guy is a little bit different than the obsessed girl. While this guy has probably also been in band since middle school, he feels like he knows everything there is to know about band and how it should be run. He loves being in band, but he feels like he knows how to run the band WAY better than the band directors and staff. You most likely won't catch him in any leadership positions, because of his constant attitude.

3. The One-And-Done

This girl only wants to do marching band for one season. Maybe it's because she has opportunities to do other things instead, or maybe it's because she didn't like it very much. She would be great in a leadership position if she decided to come back, but she probably won't decide to come back. She loves music, but the marching band environment just isn't something she wants to/can commit to for four years.

4. The Drum Major Wannabe

This guy only joined band because he wanted a shot at becoming drum major. He was probably drum major for at least one year in high school, and he wants to continue that into college. He dreams of one day being able to stand in front of the band in the stands and blow his whistle to bring the band to attention. He looks like any other guy when you see him in the hallways. If you ever eat lunch with him, he'll probably be practicing his conducting so he "doesn't get rusty."

5. The Section Leader

She has probably been in band since middle school, just like lots of others. She's a great person and amazing leader, even though she might not have wanted the position right away. She's quiet but firm, and NOBODY wants to cross her. You could go to her with any problem, band related or not, and she would be right there to listen and help. She loves band and she loves people. It's a great combination, honestly. Everyone loves her, because she always does what she's supposed to the first time.

6. The Corps Guy

No matter what they say, the guys that do summer drum corps and then come back to college marching band ALWAYS treat band differently during the seasons that follow. He thinks he's better than everyone else, but he's actually no different than the rest of the people in band. Drum Corps is a great experience if you can afford it, but most people can't afford it. His attitude won't stop him from getting a leadership position, because the band directors/staff think the corps guys hung the moon.

7. The Devoted Member

She will always show up when she's supposed to, because she has a respect for the band like no other. She loves marching band, and always will. It's her thing, and she loves every second of being on the field for halftime. When bad things happen, she can write them off, because she loves the organization and thinks that everything is worth it. She looks like any other person on campus, but on the field she wears her heart on her sleeve.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
