7 Types Of People You Will See At Every Concert

Earlier this week, I went to see the band We The Kings, and as I was in the crowd I looked around and saw many people experiencing the concert in many different ways, whether it was singing to every song, looking unimpressed, or sitting in the back waiting for the show to be over, I realized that I always see different people acting in these ways at every concert I go to. As an arts management major and just a huge music fan in general, I tend to go to a lot of different types of concerts, and I think I have finally put together the different types of people that I see at every single concert.

1. The die-hard fan

No matter what concert you go to, you will always see the die-hard fan who shows up at 8 in the morning to get the best spot. They will be always be dressed in band merch and will scream every lyric to every song.

2. The person who is only there because they were forced by a friend or significant other

If you look around, you will see someone standing right next to the die-hard fan who knows no lyrics and honestly looks bored. That’s the die-hard fan’s best friend who knows nothing about the artist, but is only there to accompany their friend.

3. The parent standing in the back

There will always be a pretty large group of parents standing in the back of the venue because they feel uncomfortable letting their child go to a concert alone.

4. The unofficial videographer

For a lot of people, recording the concert is very important. This way, they can look back at the fun times they had. However, they are basically experiencing the concert through a screen, and the people behind them will most likely be very unhappy with the phone blocking their view.

5. The dancer

Whether they know the songs or not, there will always be someone at the concert who dances to every single song. They might even just be at the concert because they wanted to go out and dance.

6. The jumper

This person is a lot like the dancer, but the only move they seem to know is jumping.

7. The really tall person in the front row

As a concert-goer I try to avoid standing behind this person no matter what. There is always at least one very very tall person in the front row who makes it impossible for anyone behind them to see anything on the stage.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
