It is incredibly important to maintain a clean living environment. Try dedicating the same time slot every week to tidying up around your living area as it can do wonders for your mental health and productivity, and gives you something to fill up those lazy Sunday afternoons.
2. Stick To Your Routine, Or Form One
Being completely responsible for your living area comes with many responsibilities, to help keep track of them all and make sure everything gets done, it helps to create, and stick to, a routine.
3. Go To Class
Without the authority of parental guidance around, the temptation to stay in and skip class will be at an all time high. Going to class is extremely important for understanding material, even if it is recorded and posted online. It is imperative to attend as many classes as possible and make skipping a rarity, as skipping one day can lead to skipping many more.
4. Grocery Shop For One
It is very easy to accidentally buy far too much food for one person to eat, especially if you shop while hungry. It important to remember that food spoils rather quickly and that there is only one of you to eat it all, and as an added bonus it will save you tons of money in the long run!
5. Socialize
With all of the new responsibilities included in living alone it is easy to neglect your social life. Be sure to sign up for clubs and interest groups to meet new people and not burn out on being an adult.
6. Decorate!
It is most likely the first time in your life that you have your own space, so make it yours! It is important to be as comfortable as possible in the place you will be spending the vast majority of your time.
7. Have Fun
Perhaps the most important bit of advice of all, is to have fun. Adulthood has officially started, it isn't as intimidating as it may seem, so enjoy your first true independence!
