Fast forward to the day after Thanksgiving. You're still full from last night's dinner, and all you want to do is sleep for a couple more hours, but how can you miss Black Friday shopping? The rush of Black Friday shopping has to be one of my favorite things about the Thanksgiving time. Here are seven tips for Black Friday shopping.
1. Know what you need.
Now is not the time to just browse through stores buying whatever seems cool. Make a list of all of the Christmas presents you need to buy and all the other things you need. This will ensure that you don't miss out on the deals you really wanted.
2. Buy the newspaper with all of the deals.
Now that you have a list of everything you need, you have to decide which stores have the best deals on those items and what times you have to be there at.
3. Make a game plan.
Once you know what stores to go to, you need to make a schedule. What time do you have to get up? What is the fastest route to the stores you need to get to? What stores are on the way to other stores? What time does the deal on the cute boots start?
4. Keep a list of the things you need with you.
In the crowds of people and the holiday rush, you may lose sight of what you actually wanted to buy. Make sure to keep a list with you and cross out items as you buy them.
5. Be aggressive, but don't hurt anyone.
Yeah, that might be the last pair of size 7 boots you have been eyeing for the past month, but you don't have to beat up the poor lady who just got her hands on them. This doesn't mean you shouldn't race the girl going for your second favorite pair of boots on the shelf.
6. Take a few friends or family members.
Everything is more fun with company, so grab friend or family member (that have some of the same items on their list) to go through this process with you.
7. Know that it is okay if you don't get everything you wanted.
Black Friday shopping is no fun if all you do is take the day/night as a race to get every single thing you wanted with the exact deal you saw. It's alright if you get to Best Buy 15 minutes too late for the headphones you wanted to buy for your little brother. Black Friday shopping is meant to enjoy a day/night of extreme shopping.
Although a lot of people hate Black Friday shopping for taking away from Thanksgiving, I believe that it is a great opportunity to bond with family. I follow these tips every time I go Black Friday shopping, and I always end up satisfied with my purchases.
