When there isn’t the appropriate word or catch phrase, it’s pretty great that we can look to classic family favorite films for inspiration on how to navigate the terrain in life known as reality. The films of Pixar have been giving us timeless advice for years. From fish finding friends to supers to trash compacting robots, these unusual characters offer some truly insightful wisdom. These movies are fun for kids, but they're smart and

  • Life can happen all at once. It hits in waves, and pretty soon we’re drowning. Finding Nemo teaches us, we just have to have faith. Just keep swimming, you’ll surface eventually.

  • We all know how crazy maintaining relationships can be too. We make friends, lose friends, work to keep friends, and every other relationship in our life. Mike and Sully help teach the value of friendship when we can’t help but forget sometimes in all the madness.

  • And lets not start on our work ethic. Haha we have become notorious for procrastination, or for piling on so much and then wondering how we got into this mess. Well, there is no other way to simply state it, other than to listen to Mater. Git-r’ done.

  • We should also be brave and pursue our dreams in life. We can only go as far as we allow ourselves to dream, and the best encouragement we can possibly hope to get is from a space man himself, Buzz Lightyear!

  • And you want to know what is “incredible”? Haha sorry, bad pun, but for real, it’s the fact that we can work toward such a bright and shining future, and also be very involved in the now. Don’t look back and wonder what if, otherwise you’ll forget to stop and smell the roses.

  • Now all this talk about work and dreams, we can’t just focus on the constant movement; we must also find joy in life. Adventure is out there, chase it, embrace it, experience it.

  • And finally, we cannot forget to live our lives to the fullest. With all of this, Wall-E taught us its crucial that we don’t merely survive, we live our life to the best of our ability.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
