7 Thoughts Of Every Babysitter

Babysitting: one of the most enjoyable yet most tiring jobs. You’re basically getting paid to play with kids, but many kids have the stamina of the Energizer Bunny. In some cases, you want to go to bed before the kids do because you have the stamina of a 70-year-old-man and are functioning off of five hours of sleep. Between the perks and difficult situations, these are seven thoughts every babysitter has had at some point while on the job.

1. When the parents say the kids cannot watch TV.

Ma’am, how am I supposed to entertain your child for six hours?

2. When the parents say the kids can watch TV.

Yes, time for a three-hour Disney Channel marathon!

3. When the kid says, “I can’t sleep.”

Try going back to sleep? Count sheep…?

4. When the mom orders pizza for dinner.

Free pizza and I’m getting paid? What could be better?

5. The pantry raid after the kids go to bed.

“Help yourself to anything!” Well, if you insist...

6. You find yourself getting way too competitive in games.

No, I’m not letting a 7-year-old beat me in Mario Kart.

7. You struggle doing elementary school homework.

Despite the minor hardships of babysitting, it really is a fun job.

Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

It is no secret that many American traditions have changed over time. As we grow older we change in so many ways that it only makes sense that we also change the way we celebrate special occasions. Of course when it comes to the holidays there are some family traditions that many of us still excitedly look forward to, whether it is eating your favorite dish or seeing favorite cousin. However, we all know that the holidays have overall changed a little from what they used to be.
