Mothers and daughters: some are polar opposites, some are exactly the same. You identify with the latter, and you are convinced your mom is actually your twin. You can talk to her about anything and she will understand. You can crack any joke and she will likely find it funny. You have a ton in common with her and that makes you feel closer to her. Here are a few things you will totally get if you and your mom are basically the same person.

1. "Oh my gosh, you look so much like your mom!"

You hear this from your family, your friends, your mom's friends, sometimes even strangers. You may have her eyes, her nose, her mouth, her chin or all of the above, and everyone you know will make sure they tell you that you two look alike. Genes are a crazy thing; and while you typically share 50 percent of your DNA with your mother and the other 50 percent with your father, you are convinced that approximately 100 percent of your DNA comes from your mom.

2. Baby pictures of her look just like baby pictures of you.

You have probably been browsing some old photo albums or grandma has busted out the embarrassing old pics, and you've noticed something odd about your mom's baby pictures- they look just like yours. If the picture was 30 years newer you would legitimately think it was you, and it's kinda freaky.

3. Your family calls you by your mom's name.

Whether it's your grandma, your aunt, your cousins or even your dad, you've been called the wrong name by your family at least a hundred times. You used to get offended and wonder what was so unmemorable about you that your family could barely remember your name, but you've learned to accept it over time and now just roll your eyes and answer to your mom's name.

4. People have confused you and your mom's voices over the phone.

Not only are you a clone of your mother, but you inherited her voice too. Your grandma has probably started a full-blown conversation with you thinking it was your mom who picked up the phone. "No grandma, this is (insert your name here), I'll go get mom."

5. You two often think or say the exact same things.

"I was just about to say that!" is a common phrase in your household, because you and your mom think alike as much as you look alike- which is a lot. You make the same snarky comments about overrated celebrities, you notice the same outfit faux pas of strangers in the street and you flat-out have the same ideas sometimes. You know what they say, great minds think alike.

6. You are constantly seeing more of her traits appear in yourself.

You have had multiple moments where you've thought to yourself "oh my God, I'm becoming my mother." Your humor is similar, you worry about or get excited about the same things, you have picked up some of her interests and hobbies (even if they're kind of lame). Sometimes you find yourself talking to her, using her hand gestures or even liking and disliking the same foods. You are slowly turning into your mother, and honestly, you're OK with it.

7. She's your best friend.

How could she not be? She's just like you, and who doesn't want to be best friends with themselves? Although you get in frequent arguments because you are so much alike, that same likeness brings you closer and gives you something to bond over. There is no greater compliment someone can give you than comparing you to your mom- she's amazing in every way and you can only hope to be like her when you grow up.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
