Mornings can be pretty tough, but it's probably the period of time in which you can be the most productive. After coming home from school, I don't feel like doing anything but sleep, but when I decide to get up early, I seem to do a lot more than I think I'm capable of doing. Here's a few things you can do to help prepare for a long and stressful day:
1. Practice Meditation
Especially around exams season, stress seems to be the main reason people are a mess. Sometimes, by taking about 10 minutes of you morning to focus on you can really help you start the day positively.
2. Set Goals
Starting the day off by making a list of goals you want to accomplish is important to stay organized and on task. By jotting everything you have to do during the day, you can practice time management skills.
3. Disconnect
Not using any electronic device can easily de-stress the mind and body. When you wake up, try not to touch your phone first thing in the morning.
4. Eat A Healthy Breakfast
We've all heard that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day." The word breakfast literally means to break your fast. After a long night of sleeping, your body needs the proper nutrients to properly function throughout the day. The first food you should eat should be healthy and rich in nutrients.
5. Exercise
Exercise improves your body's well being overall. It gets your body energized and gets your blood flow moving. Blood flow is important in the morning because it can improve performance overall.
6. Hydrate
Drinking plenty of water can wake up your body and spike up energy levels tremendously. Squeezing some lemon in your water can make water taste better and have some health benefits. Lemon contains vitamin c, nutrients, antioxidants, and potassium.
7. Take A Cold Shower
Finally, to wake your body up fully, take a cold shower. By doing this, you can increase alertless and improves circulation throughout the body.
