7 Things I Will Miss After Winter Break

Winter break has truely been a blast. I had so many memories that I wouldn't trade for anything and I am sad to say that we are back at school. I love school and all, but I already winter break. Here are seven reasons why:

1. Family

It sucks when you get so use to seeing your family everyday and then having to leave them to go back to college. All those family activities and home cooked meals is over. I don't know what I would do without my family. My winter break wouldn't have been the same without them. Until next time fam!

2. Friends

I have a few friends that I am still close with from high school and one of my favorite things to do when I am home is spend time with them. I love my college friends but something about my friends from home is something special. They been around for so long and I don't know what I'd do without them. The few memories we spend together is something I will always cherish. I know people say college friends are your friends that stay, but heck I love my friends from high school.

3. My Dogs

Where do I even begin? Who doesn't love to come home to your pets? If I could bring my dogs to college with me I would. They're just always so happy to see you and it leaves such a warm, fuzzy feeling. I guess I'll have to settle for the millions of picture I took on my phone of them until next time.

4. Wawa

I DON'T HAVE WAWA NEAR MY COLLEGE. Honestly, I love Sheetz. I really do, but nothing compares to Wawa. If you have a Wawa by your school, don't take it for granted. I am so sad that I can no longer eat from Wawa.

5. Sleeping in

Who doesn't love sleep though? I will miss being able to sleep in. Some have jobs over break and can't relate, but for me, I was able to sleep as late as I wanted. Though it was hard getting use to not getting up for classes. Now I gotta go back to my old sleep schedule and I am not physically or mentally prepared for that.

6. Being stress free

Not having to worry about school all break was a nice feeling. Sure I still had to worry about my senior project, but for the most part, it was nice. Not having to worry about all of the homework and projects that I usually do was so relieving. Though I am not gonna lie, as school was approaching, I did feel the stress slowly creep into my mind. I guess you can never really get away from your responsibilities at school, even if you are on break.

7. My bed

My bed is something I absolutely hate leaving. I am use to dorm beds seeing as I am a senior, but nothing beats your bed at home. It's comforting physically and mentally. My bed is where I feel most comfortable.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
