If Time Travel Was Real, I Would Go Back To Being 10 Years Old Again For These 7 Things

I REALLY took advantage of everything and how easy life was.

Now that I am what you would consider an 'adult', I have realized that kids have the easiest lives. When I was younger, I always looked forward to going to college and growing up and now I wish those years didn't go by so quickly. I REALLY took advantage of everything and how easy life was.

1. Driving

This sounds ridiculous. But think about it. When you were younger, all you had to do was sit in the back seat and relax. Sometimes, you could even watch a movie! I couldn't wait until the day that I got my license and could drive wherever I wanted too, but I kind of wish my mom and dad could still drive me around places. Also as a kid, you didn't have to pay for gas. So that was nice too.

2. Working

Kids don't have to work. They do chores around the house and occasionally babysit or pet sit, but they don't have to deal with employment until they are teenagers. And I used to pretend to be a McDonald's cashier when I was younger... if only they knew.

3. Summer Vacation

I cannot tell you how stressed I was going into summer because all I could think about was finding a job. I found one thankfully. But that's what happens when you get to college. Your summers are no longer filled with fun summer camps, sleepovers with friends, and trips to the beach... it's trying to look for summer jobs and make as much money as you possibly can before the fall semester starts. My little brother and sister are living it up doing fun summer camps and swimming all day.

4. The Fridge

It is so nice coming home to a full fridge and pantry. When I'm at school, I literally eat yogurt and sandwiches all the time. I took advantage of all the access to the amazing snacks that resided in our pantry. Especially when I would go grocery shopping with my mom and she would let me pick out all the food for my lunches and home... those were the days.

5. Homework

This sounds weird because who likes homework? Not me. But I especially don't like homework in college. It takes way to long and is MUCH harder than what I complained about in middle school and high school. I would do anything to go back to my homework taking me 15 minutes and it being an easy math worksheet.

6. When mom and dad packed my lunch

I don't know what is special about a parent packing your lunch, but I took advantage of it. I don't know about your parents, but my parents would even write me notes in my lunch box reminding me to have a good day or a cheesy poem that my dad would write me. Think about it, you would walk downstairs and all you would have to do is grab your Vera Bradley lunch box and out the door you went. Now if I want to pack myself lunch, I have to give myself at least 15 minutes to do so- I never realized how long making a sandwich actually takes.

7. Disney Channel

I feel bad for kids now because they will never get to experience the "That's so Suite Life of Hannah Montana." Disney Channel now is so strange and definitely not as cool. I would do anything to watch an episode of That's So Raven again on television.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
