I miss my roommates a lot more than I thought I would. We lived together for our entire freshman year and now I've been home all summer without them. I realized even if they are a pain in my ass, they're my second family and I can't wait to see them again. There isn't one thing roommates aren't good for...OK except for cleaning, so here are seven things to thank your roommates for.

1. Binge Watching Netflix

Thank you for watching endless episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" with me and watching all the funny shows I suggest to you. Thank you for staying in with me on a Saturday night and watching all the best movies from our childhood. Thank you for watching Christmas movies with me in the middle of March.

2. Not Making You Eat Alone

Thank you for eating with me at the dining hall even though you already ate an hour ago. Thank you for getting a large order of mozzarella sticks at midnight with me so it doesn't look like I'm eating it all by myself.

3. Walking You Home

Thank you for walking me home after I get done with my midnight shift and I'm too scared to walk through campus alone. Thank you for walking to and from parties with me. Thank you for tucking me in to bed with water and a garbage can after those rough Saturday nights.

4. Always Being Down for a Good Time

Thank you for always teaching me to let loose and have fun at all hours of the day. Whether we're making some crazy DIY project, baking cookies or teaching ourselves the latest dance trend, you can always count on roommates to make you laugh until you cry.

5. Studying With You

Thank you for bringing me that extra large coffee. Thank you for reserving a quiet spot in the library for us to study. Thank you for motivating me to do my very best. Thank you for signing me into class when I just didn't feel like going.

6. Talking To Boys For You

Thank you for introducing me to that cute boy across the room. Thank you for hiding my phone from me when I try to text the boy who I shouldn't even be thinking about. Thank you for pretending to be my girlfriend when a creepy boy introduces himself.

7. Having Someone To Lean On...Always

Thank you for always being there no matter what.

Having roommates is like having a personal support system at your side at all times. They are there when you need to cry or vent or laugh or need a pick me up. Roommates are honestly God's blessing. You can't live with 'em and you can't live without 'em. I couldn't ask for a better second family. If you're reading this ladies; I can't wait to be living with you again. Take a minute today to thank your roommates and remind them how grateful you are.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
