You did it! You finished high school! I remember you wanting so badly to graduate and it’s finally here. So I wanted to pass on some future advice as you move 300 miles away to Knoxville.
- You are hardworking, never forget that.Your senior year, you set out to write a novel. 6 months later, you got it published and out for the world to read. Not many people, especially who are 18, can say they wrote a book in high school, but you can. You worked you butt off and you need to remember as you go into college: You can do this!
- Don’t spend too much time alone. In high school, you had friends and you went out here and there, but I think you spend more time binging on Netflix and Uncharted combined. Now that you are about to experience a new life soon, go out and check out the place you call home one last time. Hang out with your friends and enjoy their presence before you leave. You’ll miss them more than you think will so cherish the time you guys have together now.
- Never stop writing!I think this statement is a given. Writing is who you are as a person and who you will always be. You have so many writing pieces to come alive, so always keep writing.
- Save moneyYou’re about to go to college and you’ll probably be a broke college student during the time, but to at least go to college with a few dollars saved will probably help you.
- Be open-minded and open to new friendships Change is scary, yes, but change is also really exciting! So the day you move to UTK, have an open mind on things. Try news things and see who you fit well with!
- Have fun! You have come this far and worked so hard to get to this point. You about to attend an amazing university, so make the most of it. I’m not saying have so much fun you don’t remember what happened the night before, but go out and try things out. And if you don’t want to go out one night, that’s okay. Netflix and YouTube are fun things to do as well.
I’m so proud of you Hanna and I’m so excited to see where this next chapter in your life takes you.
Yours truly,
Past Hanna
