As our current semester is coming to a close, professors are deciding to assign piles of quizzes, tests, and papers to rack up points for this last month of school. Let’s not forget that the dreaded finals are also on the horizon. As I’ve been studying and writing papers this past week I was so stressed, and there's no way I could be the only one. For anyone who is stressed out, try some of these stress relievers.

1. Turn on some throwback music

Take a break and turn on some old tunes! It will not only give you a chance to scream out some of your favorite old songs, but it will give your mind a much needed break from concentrating. Spend ten minutes laughing and realizing how you remember all the lyrics to those old songs. They’ll put you in a better mood to go back to your school work.

2. Build a fort

Find some pillows and blankets around your room and make a fort. It makes having to do homework a little more bearable inside a fort like you used to make when you were younger. It makes it a safe and fun place, even though school work is the last thing you want to be doing.

3. Go to the gym

Yeah, it’s probably the last thing you want to do, right? But you can channel all of your frustration from school into running or lifting weights. Get out all of that built up anger! Let it out!

4. Buy a dozen eggs

No, I’m not crazy. Instead of putting your fist through the wall buy a dozen eggs and one by one take them out of the carton and throw them as hard as you can on the ground (preferably outside). You can get all of your frustration out by smashing eggs!

5. Stretch

Relax your muscles! Have some quiet time where you can completely isolate yourself from everything around you.

6. Print off coloring pages

Nothing relieves stress like some old fashion coloring books. I love getting to spend a few minutes on a coloring page pretending I’m six and having no cares in the world. It relieves so much stress not having to worry about what’ s due, or at least not have to worry for a couple minutes.

7. Think about Summer

In a month life will be great! No school, warm weather, and getting to see your hometown friends. Who could be nostalgic about that?

Work hard! It’s almost the end of the 2015/2016 school year. Finish it out strong and if you feel overwhelmed, use some of these stress relievers to help you. You can do it!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
