Spring Break is slowly creeping up, and you might not have plans yet or can't afford that trip down to Florida. Here are some alternate ideas for those who at stuck in the great state of Ohio for their week off.

1. Explore the Ohio Caverns in West Liberty, OH. Located about 30 miles North of Springfield, they offer a variety of tours during the winter months from 10 am - 4 pm. On the tours you will get to see more, and learn more about this natural wonder. After you finish your tour you aren't too far from Markin Farms where you can zip through the tree tops!

2. If you are looking for a greater sense of adventure, you can head over to Start Skydiving located in Middletown, OH. Here you will be able to jump out of an airplane (with the help of a professional) and get a birds eye view of the world below you.

3. Hocking Hills is located in Logan, OH and offers a variety of activities go its visitors. While there you are able to visit Old Man's Cave, one of their most popular areas connecting three of the park's areas on its six mile course. You can also check out a cave on the southernmost area of Hocking Hills. Ash Cave claims the title as the largest recess cave in the state. Stay for a day, or rent a cabin, or even pitch a tent. Hocking Hills has something for everyone from their trails, to canoeing to ziplining.

4. If you're itching to get out of Ohio, but aren't able to commit to more than a day trip, take a quick trip up to Michigan, and visit Ann Arbor where you will find lots of little local shops, museums, parks and gardens. Here you will also find the University of Michigan main campus. (Go Bucks!)

5. If you want to get out of Ohio, and are able to commit to a couple days, catch the train or bus over to Chicago. Here you can get some of the best pizza the US has to offer, take a selfie at The Bean and shop until you drop on the Magnificent Mile. Chicago does not have a shortage of attractions to keep you busy during your visit.

6. Head to Mansfield, OH where you can walk the same hall's as history's most infamous prisoners at the Ohio State Reformatory. Here you can find beautiful architecture and maybe even some paranormal activity. Immerse yourself into the foundation that formed The Shawshank Redemption. While you are in Mansfield, you can even check out Richland Carrousel Park and grab a meal in a train car at the Buckeye Express Diner!

7. Hit up some great shopping. From Tanger Outlets, to Polaris to Easton, Columbus does not have a shortage of shopping, and it's never to early to start working on your summer wardrobe.

So instead sitting around all week, living vicariously through the Instagram pictures of those in Florida, go exploring in your home state, or somewhere near by. You never know what you might find.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
