Finding out you have a snow day, for the most part, can be the best thing to hear. You are off school, your job, or both! You are able to do anything you want with the free time you have.

The only drawback is being confined to your room/dorm/house because of the snow that caused the closings. Here are a few things you can do on those snowy days!

1. Snowball fights, sledding, or building an igloo.

This is the best, especially if you do it with a bunch of your friends. It's a perfect way to make memories and make the day go by faster. If you are 21 and over, you can do all of this a little tipsy, which can make it even more fun.

2. Make some hot chocolate and binge-watch a series or some movies.

Nothing is better than cuddling up under the blankets with a hot chocolate in your hands watching your favorite movie; especially with your friends/roommates. An even better idea is to make a blanket fort with fairy lights.

3. Spend time with family.

If you happen to be home or if you are a commuter, why not spend time with your family? Whether it's going out in the snow, playing board games, or watching TV, it's so fun. Try not to get into fights with your siblings, as tempting as it may be.

4. Get work done.

This may be your last thought, but a snow day gives you the perfect opportunity to catch up on some work or to be ahead of the game. You can do projects, essays, or labs that are due the following week.

5. Clean your house or room, A.K.A. get your life together.

You can clean your room, which you have been probably ignoring doing for a long time. It may not seem like the most fun thing to do in the world, but you will feel better about yourself once you do it.

6. Catch up on sleep.

A snow day is another perfect opportunity to catch up on all the sleep you have been missing from staying up till 3 A.M. getting an assignment finished or studying for a test.

7. Play "Cards Against Humanity", "Most Likely To", or any other card games.

If you want to laugh your ass off, these are definitely card games that can do that. Stay in your PJs and play these with your friends.

Hope these tips help you out in some way. Let me know some of your ideas!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
