Who said Little Rock is boring? Here is a list of fun places and activities that Arkansas' capital and my hometown, Little Rock, has to offer.
1. Climb Pinnacle Mountain
Cost: Free
Grab a friend and go hike Pinnacle! The view on top is spectacular, and you also get a very good workout.
2. Go To The Old Mill
Cost: Free
The Old Mill is not only famous for its beautiful scenery, but also for being in the opening scene of the classic movie, "Gone With The Wind." It is believed to be the oldest structure shown in the film that is still standing. In 2010, The Old Mill was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
3. Visit The Clinton Presidential Library
Cost: $10 for adults (18-61), but $8 if you have a valid student ID.
This is a super cool place if you're a history buff like me. It houses the largest collection of presidential papers and artifacts in U.S. history. It also includes a replica of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room. It is only one of fourteen recognized presidential libraries in the country, so take advantage of having one in your city and go visit it.
4. Watch A Baseball Game At Dickey-Stephens Park
Cost: $6 for general admission
Little Rock is home to the Arkansas Travelers, a minor league baseball team that plays at Dickey-Stephens. They have games from May until September.5. Play At Dave And Buster's
Cost: Varies
At one of Little Rock's newest attractions, Dave and Buster's, you can eat, drink, and play games. It's like a grown-up version of Chuck E. Cheese, and trust me, this place is a whole lot of fun.
6. Go To The Zoo
Cost: $12.95 for adults
The Little Rock Zoo may not be the biggest, but it is home to a lot of amazing animals such as penguins, gorillas, lions, giraffes, and bears. If you are an animal lover, the zoo is a must.
7. Go Skating At Arkansas Skatium
Cost: $13 (includes ice and roller skating with skate rental)Arkansas Skatium has both ice and roller skating and is sure to be a fun time.
