Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect on the things that we are thankful for. It is a pause in school, work, and in life to gather our thoughts and think about what we are most grateful for in our lives. Amidst busy schedules and packed days, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays simply for these reasons. Here are 7 things I am thankful for this year.

1. Vacation Time

I feel like this is the same for a lot of people, but this is a great time for a few days off of our busy lives and is a great time to simply be in our homes and celebrate being together with our families.

2. Great Food

Is there anything better than the food we get to eat on Thanksgiving? Seriously, if I am good for this month, I feel like I can eat whatever I want on Thanksgiving and have it not count…

3. Thanksgiving

I mean this both as a Holiday and as a literal time in our lives to give thanks. It is not too often that we get this opportunity and we should make the most of it.

4. Family

One of the best parts of the year is having a time where family gets together to share a meal with each other. Sure, it may be with all the crazy chaos that comes with it, but we should be thankful nonetheless.

5. Friends

Thanksgiving is also a time to celebrate the friends in our lives and the family that we choose.

6. Black Friday

With Christmas as the next big holiday, I can’t help but be thankful for the massive sales that come with Thanksgiving on black Friday. I mean, the less I have to spend, the better.

7. Time

One thing I am always so thankful for is having a few days to catch up on things I haven’t had a chance to do for a while. Like all the reading from the entire month of November I had for classes….

And although there are so many things to be thankful for, these are just a few.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
