With final exams being only a few weeks away, students are starting to feel the pressure of doing well while not getting majorly stressed out. It can be a difficult next few weeks for many on campus, as assignments are all due at the same time and you feel like you're running out of time to complete them- it kind of feels like escaping out of a hole that just keeps getting deeper and deeper. And although it can be easy to let finals get you down, it's important to recognize that, yes, there are things to be happy and get excited about! Here are just a few:

1. Warm weather is on the way

It is, I promise! You don't have to wear jeans, sweatshirts, and sweaters for much longer! Soon, you can be soaking up the sun at the beach or by the pool! You'll no longer want to be bundled up inside for the day because of the cold air! Vitamin D, here we come!

2. Going home

We're going to be back in our humble abode in just a few more weeks! That means no more dining hall food! No more wearing shoes in the shower! Sleeping in our own beds! Did I mention no more dining hall food?

3. Seeing friends and family

For three months, we don't have to worry about missing class or catching up! We don't have to stress about getting homework done! No more papers to submit to Blackboard by midnight! No more dreadful group projects! Let the destressing begin!

5. Catching up on tv shows

When finals are over, your Netflix obsession can come out of hibernation! You can start all of those tv shows you were looking forward to watching! And you can even catch up on the ones you had to take a break from because of school! Let the laziness resume!

6. Getting more sleep

To my fellow friends that were courageous and took 8:30s this semester, they're almost over! We can regain a full eight hours of sleep soon! No more staying up late stressing to get work done! No more camping at the library or having early responsibilities! Time to turn those alarm clocks OFF!

7. Seeing your dog

You get to see your doggo once finals are over! He will be so excited to see you and jump all over the place and be super happy! You can take him out for walks and throw the ball with him! You can go back to cuddling and watch television together! Life is good again!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
